Thank you for the encouragement
I'm really not sure my anxiety would like it, I imagine it's quite a busy place and it's a lot of new things all at once.

One thing I do know is that if I wasn't single when I go I would be when I get back!

How our perception of time can be seriously distorted.

It feels like 7/8 PM ATM but I've just looked at the clock and it's only 4:45.

That The Wire was such a good series. One that you need to go back to again and again to truly appreciate it and its depth.

I'm playing a game and I keep hearing the theme tune to The Clothes Show in the battle music. Is this how madness begins? I'll have to see the doctor in the morning.

I might do a shop with Ocado. They're tempting me with a 30% off 1st order (min. spend £60).

It all looks overpriced but if you choose carefully, after the deduction it should work out to be a decent deal. Can anyone corroborate? Dos and don'ts?

so many questions - sorry!
I have explained to my friend that I can struggle with busy social situations and he seems to understand that I may need to bolt if it gets too much.
The idea would be to go for a long weekend so stay in a hotel somewhere, which would mean that I could only escape to the hotel.

As for my bf going that would never happen - he resents me having friends and he says 'Brighton is full of skanky gays'.
Tbh my main reason for going would be to go to some bars or clubs and maybe even get laid, so having a bf kind of rules that out.

The most daunting part of it for me, other than breaking up with my bf, is the drive there. Its about 3 hours drive and as I would be driving alone my anxiety would be very high.
The potential for an enjoyable trip is high but there would be a lot of anxiety gremlins too.

Whether it will ever happen, I don't know.

You could always go by train tho you would have changes. A lot of the South West and Wales (I think your in the SW - apologies if not!) trains seem to come in at Southampton and you can definitely get a train from Southampton to Brighton. Takes longer obviously but at least you can sit back listen to music, read or watch the world go by.

I have done this before

I can't remember what I wanted, it was possibly when a certain type of coffee was on offer only at ocado (which is just mostly waitrose stuff anyway?) So I went balls deep and got about 6 months worth

It is overpriced compared to your standard shops..but when overpriced things are on offer it tends to get them down to normal prices I use ocado maybe every couple of month for £60-70 worth and usually Everything in my list is on offer. The delivery drivers seem to be considerably happier too, you get a nice little text message saying Simon will be delivering your food today in the kiwi van!

I think when your new don't they give you a 12 month free delivery pass thing too? or they used to..that wasn't bad, I don't think I could use ocado as a weekly tho that would get expensive.

What about going a day before your friend so you can get familiar with the place ie train down, stay in a Premier Inn or something for a night, meet up with him the next day, do whatever, get the train home. Bit expensive maybe but sell it to yourself as a bit of a well deserved holiday.

You can't pass up a good coffee deal!

Yeah, i think i shall take this offer up but keep it to reduced stuff and cupboard goods. I don't want to be disappointed with fresh foods that are bruised/knackered.

And, yes, it includes a 3-month pass, free delivery thing.

^Oops. They seem to be coming down harder on it, a few people I know have been pulled in for Speed Awareness courses in recent months.

I've been lucky so far but then I'm a stickler for speed.

... how I could have got a small dead flower caught in the back of my hair. How long had it been there? I've only been to work and back today. I work in an office in the centre of London. I've spent the three days before that ill, only leaving the house once for food. Did a kid throw it as a joke, or did the wind blow it onto me?

Did my boss see it and immediately cast suspicion over my claims of sickness?

Yeah . It's a funny stretch of road, cause it feels like it should be a 40. Fairly wide straight road, not many houses. But the locals go out with hand held speed cameras and try and catch folk. I can see it from there point of view tbf.

Irony is i'm not much of a speed freak, I rarely go over 60 on dual carriageways, often more likely nearer to 50!

I took the course, rather than the points as a friend of mine has been haunted by points for the last 5 years with her insurance company.

Insurance companies are often brutal. I'd take the course every time. Plus I do think there needs to be more leeway when it comes to speed limits, particularly in some areas where if you even go 1-2 over the limit you get a ticket.

Currently in an Uber but I've run out of things to say lol. So the guy was working in central London before my pickup, he stopped for a "sports massage" in Swiss Cottage before picking me, talked football, he's off to central London again after me...
