Got a phone call from pathfinder CPN this morning. The cmht have accepted my referral for discussion though there is no guarantee they will accept me being stepped up. It would only be for a very short period with possibly (though we don't know) a graduate MHP for some very specific sessions. It's better than nothing I guess.

She spoke directly to the psychologist about me and they lean towards me being AvPD or having AvPD traits rather than Schizoid PD. Just as I was beginning to reach some kind of acceptance it might be Szd Pd!

Who knows though they may just kick me off into the blue - wont be the first time.

I'm writing a backstory on my genasi druid character for our first homebrew campaign. I cant't decide whether to make them from the circle of the moon to wildshape or circle of the shepherd so i can have my own spirit totem.

I like that idea. Get parliament to pressure her into coming back.

Blimey just used my GP's new online contact for advice or treatment service. All I want is to re start my anti depressant prescription. It's like the Spanish inquisition - loads of questions about anxiety, depression, (they never bother to ask all this in a real bloody consultation!!) then questions on family history of diabetes, blood pressure, cancer...
I felt like replying - just read my notes!

Though I have to admit I think it's possibly a good way for some ppl to get there mental health problems across, because you get to write it down in your own words before speaking with a GP.

^ I wish I was as motivated as you!

It's good that you are feeling the benefits off cutting down on your digital usage. Also, that the diet is already paying off. I don't think you should need to worry about not eating the foods that your colleagues at work try to offer you - people have to abstain from certain foods for all sorts of health reasons and you shouldn't feel that you need to explain, unless you want to of course.

I'd like to stop using social media as it can be toxic in so many ways but think that it might cause me to feel even more isolated and cut off from the world. Not that using social media makes me feel any less cut off. In fact perhaps it's amplifying my feelings of loneliness because I'm feeling bleaker by the day. I think by the time people reach middle age most of them have already got a number of long standing friends and aren't looking for any more - at least not weird introverted ones like me. As far as friendships go, it definitely isn't getting any easier with age

^ It's only in the last 3 or 4 years that I've had any friends so it's never too late.
They are mainly from the IRC chatroom but I have met a lot of them in person.
Oh and you're not allowed to stop using social media, your pics often cheer me up on a bad day

I was thinking how bad modern social media could potentially be for our mental health. I feel that social media has taken over our lives and now life becomes about having the most likes on social media, and so people with mental health problems obviously just feel worse because they don't look as great, they don't eat great and they don't have as much money etc... it becomes a very superficial game really. Having said that, it's a good thing to have, I just worry about it's effects on peoples mental health (generally not great).

This is obviously going to be an unconventional opinion but I tend to have those - doesn't mean I'm not right

Cutting out Facebook was good for my mental health - as soon as I stopped caring about it and how I compare, it helped somewhat. It certainly won't solve your problems though, obviously if I had access to it from the earliest of ages it would have been different I think but around the time it gained popularity I lost interest in everything (due to suicidal depression) and was getting ignored on there. I mean you only need a few good friends to be happy - or at least I do.

I have to agree with you that social media has a huge potential to negatively impact people's mental health.
If you fall into the trap of comparing and despairing (which I have done many times) it's basically a competition for likes and comments.

When you stop and think about it of course 99% of what you see on Fakebook will be snapshots of what appears to be someone else's perfect life because they aren't going to show all the shitty stuff that goes on in life.
Nobody on Facebook or Instagram etc has a perfect life they just choose to show the good bits and hide the bad bits.

I don't post much on my own Facebook now but I do post a lot in various groups because mostly they're just groups of people sharing their interest and enthusiasm for a subject rather than trying to show off and score likes.

I'm not really sure exactly where I'm going with this so I will shut up now before I put my foot in my mouth.

There have been studies showing it's having a negative effect, I just try not to attach too much of my self-worth to the amount of likes I get. I just don't bother with it, I mean number of likes would just be related to fame basically, which has never been the slightest bit of interest to me, personally.

I don't think we should be banning it or anything, but I just don't think it's really that healthy to pin so much on what others think of you or how famous you happen to be due to what you post on social media. I mean I couod go on criticising it, but I don't want to come accross as anti-facebook because I'm not, but I stopped using it and it helped.

I'm doing relatively ok for me newbs - just busy with other things.

Laying in a bath tub in a dark room surrounded by candles and listening to chello versions of ‘LinkinPark’- submerging myself every so often and hearing the faint muffle of sound to entice me back up for air again. We have a shower so I guess I’ll make do with sitting on the floor in the corner of it wallowing in my own self pity instead- more tragic than poetic.

I would be really interested in an anonymous survey on how strictly people have been adhering to lockdown. I'm quite surprised this doesn't exist.

Don't know if anyone uses the meditation/mindfulness app or website - Headspace.
I use it for work though I might give it a go for myself.
Anyway they've offered a full years subscription for free to anyone who's unemployed or has been furloughed.

^ I'm only marginally overweight now and I still feel too fat for this heat.

I wasn't built to survive the yearly 1 week of sun this country gets, I crumble

I'm back at work now, I literally had a fight on my hands just to get them to put the air con on because it was "a bit cool" - ITS 28 DEGREES, absolute sadists

Yeah, I try to meditate when I get some time. My mind is overactive and guided meditation is one of the things that helped me when I was keeping it up, but with my thoughts it's difficult. I feel that I don't have time to meditate, but it can help you get into a balanced, calm state of mind. I find that I can shift my mind into a kind of subconscious state where I'm able to determine what I truely want from life.

Sounds very profound, but basically it's just taking time to clear our mind and relax for 10 minutes or so, and in doing so we get better at being in that calm headspace during our daily lives.
