How it is I'm nearly 50 years old but I am getting plagued, harrassed and ridiculed by a bunch of essentially kids at my workplace. It wouldn't happen to someone else and it really boils my piss.

^^ I really don't understand why people behave like that! Can you speak to your HR manager, if there is one?

^ I probably could but I have zero rapport with my immediate superior (actually, I think she hates me), and might get laughed off anyway and told to grow a thicker skin as I'm much older than them. Also, most of the belligerents are from a different ethnic/cultural background to me so that's an added complication if any accusations ever get made.

It's not so much overt bullying as snide remarks, intimidation, dissapproving looks, ridiculing at a distance and under-the-breath but discernable nasty remarks. Stuff that's hard to quantify or complain easily about. But it is annoying and I feel singled out for abuse of this kind for no reason other than they don't personally like me or how I look.

One thing I've learned from this job is that mature people who don't like you will by and large simply ignore you, whereas immature people will cause problems for you for that reason alone.

^ Hmm, that's tricky. It could possibly be useful if you make a note of anything that is said that would be considered rude or bullying, because you shouldn't have to put up with anything like that.

^ Sorry to hear of your workplace troubles Limey, I don't understand why people can't leave other people alone in the work place, there's always groups of people who feel the need to act immature and spoil things for others.

Keep your chin up and remember it's them with the problem not you.

How much I hate the vile, selfish morons driving round and round my neighbourhood in cars with screaming engines and noisy modified exhausts.

There's so much noise outside. I can't tell if it's people or dogs, though.

There's a dog show at some point this weekend. One of the prizes is "person who looks most like their dog" imagine gong in for the general comp and unexpectedly winning that

why put unwell people together, is this really going to make people better? no, it just makes people worse. shove them in a mental health hospital where staff aren't sympathetic at all and have no idea what's really going on for you... I'm always depressed, I"m anxious wreck around people. I can't handle this place or anyone anymore.

^ Mellie if you feel better and able to cope, could you request to be released from hospital back to your own accommodation, you could say that being in hospital is having a profound effect on your mental health making it harder for you to recover and that being back in your own accommodation will make it easier for you to recover.

In all likelihood it’s my internet, but every time I go to post on here it takes a while and seems to double post. I get the “you must wait 20 seconds between posting” or the one about duplicate posting.

This has been happening to me every time I've posted here today and a little bit yesterday. I thought there must be something wrong with my internet. It's been driving me crazy so I'm glad I'm not the only one

I'm wondering where the missing tomato is.

All of the other tomatoes in the bunch has its own little square space on the tray. Hope you're okay out there,

^ Well, I like your countertop.

____

Was reading a couple snippets posted online from this book about childhood trauma the other day, and this term 'alexithymia' came up. After googling it, been thinking about it. A lot of it's very #relatable, TFW, 'so me', etc. I felt a lot of recognition reading about it, but not in any revelatory way. It's more that having the term for things contextualises them differently. Had a conversation about it with somebody that was a really fruitful and productive one so that's nice. And it explains certain things about why any kind of talk therapy so far has not been...helpful. I don't know, this was useful info, I think.

^It'sreally positive you've been able to identify what it is. I've never heard of alexithymia, so I googled it. I hope it's something that will be helpful for you going forward

Happy that I have 6 hours leave now and unescorted leave on Thursday. Should be out in a week or so , this hospital is freaking me out. When I get out going to make sure I never go in hospital again.... If that's possible.

Thinking about walking to the forest a few miles out. I feel really invigorated being back now. I also really need the exercise after eating so much food in America oof.
