You said what... ?

I'm quite certain that ear wax removal is among a recent list of small procedures that the NHS don't offer any more. I'm sure i posted the list a little while back when i had my own ear wax issue and had to pay. You may get lucky and get offered it, but in general it sounds like you won't.

I think this has been an ongoing thing with her. She had to use olive oil before they attempted to remove the wax. Even then it was difficult to remove.

It's a fool's economy but it suits the idiotic, short-termist, cash grab politics of the Tories.
Yep. I do hope assisted suicide is a thing by the time i'm ready to off it.

Yeah, she said to me they would remove it because I was having hearing problems and she thought that might help it. She said there's a chance it could lead to tinnitus to have it done though, so I said, "nooooooo!"

Nope my ear issues are still happening. But I think it's due to being told to put oil sprays and drops in my ears when I had an infection. I will never put anything in my ears again!

I was thinking of getting it pulled out with tweezers rather than putting anything in my ear, so I would go private for that. But I have a reflex. I will probably kick or punch someone who puts anything in my eyes or ears. I can't cope with it!

My current situation is really taking a toll on my mental health, I feel like I'm on the verge of a breakdown.
I'm too paralysed by fear to take action to change things.

My face really aches from my sinuses being bunged up. It feels like all the aunties in the world are squeezing my lil face at the same time.

I might smother myself with microwave Bagpuss and see if that helps.

I really like a fair bit of his output. I would like to say i was familar with all his stuff from the prime years. I was a keen listener of Spiders From Mars and Station to Station, also Scary Monsters. I don't know. It's a bit like the Queen passing. They're there all your life and then not. Only pop superstars aren't being replaced no longer, lol.

I know what you mean, I'm only familiar with his more popular stuff but I know that he was one of a kind and irreplaceable. I remember finding the lazarus video (where he climbs into a wardrobe, his goodbye video in a way) to be really emotionally impactful

Yeah, i'm similar with the popular stuff, i know it. He was a pop artist after all, so it was wide reaching stuff but it was innovative within that form, not many touched him. I should get around to going through his work really. I'd probably like it. I haven't touched Lazarus, unfortunately, so i don't know much about it. I recall a 'mummified' Bowie.. ? In one of the videos O_o

I'd like to know his music better too, I feel like I'm always finding out that a song is by him and I didn't even realise it. Also his style was cool as hell
I think that's the one, with the bandages over his eyes?

That's the one! Thanks for posting, i just watched it. It's definitely Bowie but it's not his best. His voice is still fantastic and a good performance in the video. Getting old is bloody awful

I thought it was really self-aware of him to make his farewell piece like this, and so heartbreaking as well.
In a totally different mood, I just remembered this ~

^I was thinking of joining my bjj/kickboxing gym again. I think they don’t want me to join again because before I quit. But I was ashamed of possible learning disabilities. I have difficulties following the steps as they are said in the class but can learn them. I think I have poor short term memory but good long term memory.

Feeling the need to impress others never works and OSS write depressing how poorly it seems to work.

My sister and me never really talk. She only messaged me if she needs money or help. I briefly looked at her TikTok where she posted going to an event with friends, her opinions. It reminded me of how I felt the need to impress on social media. How my sister isn’t close to me and doesn’t really follow our mum due to her being mentally ill. How it’s get friends that have probably helped to raise her.

My sister doesn’t seem to show off. Maybe she is comfortable with herself because of the friend support she has had. Seems to have a really good friend from childhood. She was also complemented for being pretty since childhood. But then as a teen I felt the need to impress. Maybe my sister rebels against that as well.

I was just thinking of how trying to impress never works. So why try? I think I need to accept things for how they are. I would never got the traditionally cool category. I find tasks, that others at work going boring, actually alright because I work alone, enjoy organisation.

I dislike relationship advice that tells you to be a different person. For example, I was watching a video where it says being an open book is boring mysteriousness is more seductive.

But if someone who is naturally an open book took that advice would it really work or would they keep on finding the wrong person? Also it sounds manipulative to change yourself just for a relationship.

^^ I agree Alone, surely you can't pretend to be something you're not forever, it sounds exhausting and it's unfair to everyone involved. Like in your example, there might be someone who loves open books that would be a genuine match rather than pretending years down the line you wouldn't want to regret faking your personality all that time

Being a boomer who likes goth/industrial/electronic/no wave music I'm a big Bowie fan. Bowie helped shape 70s/80s + music in a big way. Like all his music from Space Oddity to Scary Monsters after which it was much more hit and miss for me. His music has always been in my music life (since 12 or thereabouts). It was always nice to think he's around...
