The likes of Spotify and ITunes have taken away a lot of the fun of making your own play list.

I've never been able to hear Take on Me without hearing one of the drum sounds as being somebody sniffing. It was in the background of something when I was listening to the radio on a walk earlier and it felt like I was on public transport in winter.

Does anyone ever actually bother to preheat the oven when cooking something?
I'm sure almost all packaging says you should but I rarely bother, just put it in and turn it on.

^ Rarely - basically only if something needs oil heating first. Otherwise I just leave it in a bit longer if I feel like it's needed.

My fella has a thing for preheating the air fryer, which makes no sense to me. He also puts the dishwasher on when it's half full, so I shouldn't be surprised. Red flags.

I never do since it's always seemed pointless and I always wondered why it said that, but only the other day I found out why (it was part of the usual word filler bollocks you get padding out every online recipe) - it's purely because that way the recommended timing is more reliable. One person might have an oven that takes a couple of minutes to reach the required temperature whereas someone else's might take 15 minutes, but if they both put something in once their ovens have reached the set temperate they should take roughly the same time to cook.

I think most people probably just use their own judgement for when something is ready, rather than following a recipe exactly to the minute, but I suppose the instruction is there for those who don't.

give it up, give it up! No I love caffeine too. I've found something- if you eat broccoli/cauliflower type foods it helps reduce the intensity of the ill-effects of caffeine.

Every time I visit the ((Club 30-81)) section I wonder what 81 here is supposed to mean?

I hope it doesn't refer to age.

I mean what if one is 82?

it feels like:
(if you're 82, then you are not supposed to exist in the world) since the maximum is 81

And if you are 75, you have 6 years left and then are not supposed to exist in our world.

It's just depressing.
It would be better if it was just (Club +30 ) or something.

I just woke up thinking, “HOH! I’m going to be late for work!”
It’s 3 hours and 30 min until I have to be up.

I don't generally bother but I believe it does have a purpose when baking something. And when I say baking I mean fish fingers and pizza lol. The idea isn't just to heat the oven itself but also the baking tray. That way, when you put sometime directly onto the tray there is an initial searing of the food to crisp the outside of it and prevent it sticking to the tray.

That's probably just a side effect rather than the intention, isn't it? Since the instructions about preheating are exactly the same for things that don't require a tray.

Don't people usually use foil/paper/silicon/something to stop things sticking to a baking tray anyway?

I really need to stop using the word ‘females’ instead of ‘women’ when at work. It’s all because of Friday Night Dinner.
I need to do all I can to not look like a wierdo at work, and this doesn’t help

I saw a lovely blueberry tartlet in Lidl for £2.99. I thought I can't afford these. But it looked nice.

The number of high rating films/shows I turned down watching because I can't stand an actor who usually has a main role.

If I'm ever on a plane that's about to crash, I'm going to make eye contact with someone across the aisle and do a *tut* face.
