Haha, no. Poppers comes in glass bottles, and you probably wouldn't get teenagers gathered in parks sniffing that.

The drug is also used for recreational drug purposes, typically for the "high" or "rush" that the drug can create.
I wouldn't bet against it.

Well I've used both, and I would! They're really not the same at all. They're both inhalants, sure, but that's where the similarity ends. Poppers comes in a glass bottle and lasts for ages, whereas laughing gas comes in a canister and is single-use (which is probably why they're just left on the ground where they're taken). Poppers are more associated with being used during sex in the queer community, whereas laughing gas is more associated with gangs of teenagers in parks or at music festivals. I really can't imagine a dozen 15 year olds hanging out in playground at night passing around a bottle of poppers, unless they were using it with something else, but it just doesn't sound likely.

Yeah, i'm not talking about similarities - it's a small bottle with a substance that gives you a rush/high ... i woulda thought that was enough.

Apparently if you are autistic and drink it can be difficult because autistic people require structure.

So if you drink once a day it can become a pattern.

I read this in a FB autism group.

It makes me proud of choosing not to drink or smoke. It may come across as boring or like I’m not trying out stuff to certain people however I would rather maintain good health than become a mild drug addict.

That when someone says they have a 'magic cupboard' in their kitchen it means that they have a dishwasher!
And not, as I thought, some sort of infinitely expandable storage space with a similar capacity to Mary Poppins handbag

That our brains are generally non binary, according to my psychology lessons. Gender is more of a social construct. Some psychology the majority thinks they know such as being left brained/right brained, using 10% of of brain capacity is actually false.

Giving it to all, rather than just those with parents of a certain income, makes it much less divisive I think. Another tick for Sweden. I'd like to live in a fairer more open country like that.

Definitely a more open society.
They have that rule making everything completely open & transparent.
If someone wants to see your tallywacker you just have to get it out right there and then for them to inspect.
Or something like that

That I don’t have to be a people pleaser.

I went park yesterday, I think the guy in the bench opposite of mines changed his position to look at the sky as I was probably making him less calm with how anxious I was.

He isn’t bad or wrong for doing what he did and I wasn’t bad or wrong for sitting on the bench at the park. I went there cause I thought it as a way to help myself, confront something a personal issue, so it’s unlikely I would be calm.

Made me feel that apologising too much for anxiety is like people pleasing. That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t work on body language and stuff, but I also should accept that it is what it is for now.

According to my last lecture most of the time we find interaction uncomfortable if we are interacting with someone that has a different level of IQ to us. Intelligence is a subject that is stigmatised because of our past relationship with the subject.

Scotland didn't celebrate Christmas for 400 years following the Scottish Reformation. That's why Hogmanay is such a big deal. Christmas Day only became a public holiday in the 1950s.

That the UK lockdown was a success apparently,

I'd hate to see what an unsuccessful lockdown would have looked like if 124 thousand people dead and a bankrupt economy is deemed a success.

I guess politicians can spin anything?

Being able to express your anger in a healthy way can make you less likely to develop heart disease.

I did not know that the song I Don’t Like Mondays was written about a school shooting and that the family of the girl who committed the shooting tried to have the song banned in the US. I don’t like the song anyway but how revolting to profit off an event like that.

There are lots of songs about real life crimes for some reason. The Smiths did one about the Moors murders that the families of the victims objected to, for example. It's never really felt like an attempt to profit off those events to me, it just feels more like an inspiration for art or commentary. I think art can be probably be made about almost anything. "True crime" podcasts/books/tv shows/conferences profit off these events more than anyone though. The amount of money made by all that stuff is incredible and they're not even attempting to create art from the events, they're just financially exploiting people's morbid interest with usually no regard for the living relatives of the murdered or missing.

There is a big link between unexpressed emotions and physical conditions. We should take more notice of it really.

Bit like that one Bloody Sunday by U2.

It's such a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!".
