Looks or personality?
What do you go for?
For me it has to be personality over looks every time. I'm not saying looks don't matter at all, I have to have some physical attraction to them but the personality is primarily what i look for. |

Re: Looks or personality?
I like a balance though it doesn't have to be perfect, I try not to think in black and white all the time. I can't deny looks are important to me but so is a personality, though things in common and a connection I rate highly.

Re: Looks or personality?
I think it needs to be both really.
I dont really have high standards for looks, id just like them to be reasonably normal. When I tried a dating site once the only girls who messaged me were quite ugly lol. |

Re: Looks or personality?
i will be honest and say looks will initially catch my eye.
and if i like their looks, then if i like their personality i may make a move. people who say it's all about the personality, i tend not to believe them. Yes, I am a skeptical mofo..... on the internet, it's ALL about the pictures. trust me. i was bored enough to actually do experiments..... ofline. in a bar/club .. it's mostly still about looks, but you've got a bit more leeway than online ...as online ..people tend to want to only talk to someone who resembles theyre ideal partner ...wheras ofline people arn't quite as tunnel visioned. social circle: looks still are king, but as you get to know someone personality comes more into play. so yes, i would say personality has a little bit more impact there. |

Re: Looks or personality?
Like most have said, its got to be a bit of both.
There are plenty of people I find good looking, but really wouldn't want to date. |

Re: Looks or personality?
I would say again a bit of both but more so personality than looks.
You could have a good looking woman who talks to you like shite and is a right bitch. I'm sure such a personality doesn't apply to any women in this forum |

Re: Looks or personality?
I can't really define what is ideal in either.
If I find someone immediately attractive, I will most likely warm to their personality (if I like it), far more quickly. If I do not find them attractive looks-wise, but I like their personality, it may take a little longer to notice them in such a way. There are not any major differences between those two hypothetical though. I try not to think about these things with a checklist of preferences though. I guess I am a romantic in that sense. |

Re: Looks or personality?
ugly women prefer good looking men over below average men so there is no point in men with below average looks concerning themselves over ugly women
on the other hand good looking women may become fed up with men who select them on the basis of their looks and look beyond that Miserable people don't tend to look attractive - so that is something that possibly can be changed , also weight loss and a makeover can lead to an improvement The Eastenders actor Heather Trott is an example of how the same person can look very different If you do get on with someone as a friend but wouldn't consider them as more than a friend due to their looks , I don't think that is right There are not many ugly women anyway |
