@Merry I'm sorry, and sorry I can't think of anything more use to say

Not sure how I feel atm, probably just lack of sleep. Finally got two of my radiators re-installed (after 4 cancellations ) so that's a relief, especially before the winter gets here. Was pretty anxiety inducing as I'm not a fan of trades people in my house anyway, and for this they had to go into every room at least once to bleed the rest of the radiators, some valves needed replacing etc so there wasn't a room I could hole up in and hide
Still, it's a good job jobbed as my nan used to say. I'll probably feel more pleased when I've slept.

^ was the lack of sleep caused by ‘ trades people coming’ anxiety, GI?

^ it's their unpredictable nature where you can't seem to find a place to sit without being in their way or them needed to walk in. You end up having to do your best-worst GCSE drama of looking busy. The worst one was when the window cleaners used to use ladders and I was in the shower

Always worth it in the end though.

I feel fairly stupid because I just started getting ready for work thinking it's Friday. Whoops!

Now I'm too awake to go back to sleep.

Hardly got any sleep last night, now I need to get up to go to town followed by board games at a friend's house.

^ Classics. Nice. I might have a board gaming day with my sister. We have LOTR monopoly, Cluedo, Planet, P for Pizza, Muffin Time and this really difficult memory game.

I've never played Cards Against Humanity.

I suppose what I'm feeling is the early stages of grief. Very sad and numb.

@biscuits yeah, ruddy chatty people, leave me aloneeee . But yes, always good to get done.

@Mike.Kzov I'm very sorry, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel what you feel when you feel it (I'm sure you know that anyway but still, worth a reminder in tough times I think)

I'm sorry to hear that, Mike. One day at a time is how I coped with grief. And as GI has said, be kind to yourself.

^ If it's a human being she's popped out, then congratulations

I'm not feeling at all happy tonight and, as always, am probably totally overreacting about something. It's at times like this that I really wish I had a friend to talk to

Stressed.

I've just had to do an online maths/statistics test because I'm applying to be 'badged' as a statistics bod as well as a research bod at work. Most of the questions were like:

'Jeff rides a bike uphill to a destination at 4mph and back again downhill at 12mph. The journey takes 40 minutes. How far does he travel?'

'Variables x and y have a Pearson correlation of -0.6. Pick which of these statements are NOT true.'

I know it's just a case of picking the numbers apart and doing some calculations step by step or reading the statements and discounting them one by one, but it still totally stresses me out. And I love statistics in practice.

Anyway, somehow I passed it despite taking a fair few guesses and running out of time to do 3 of the 25 questions. But I'm still stressed.

^ Take time away from your work desk, control your breathing, and have a bowl of pasta and mushrooms to boost your estrogen levels. And of course wash it down with a cold glass of pepsi max mango.

Once you've done the above, then it's appropriate to sit down and reflect on achieving a pass.

With medical advances etc, it's quite common these days for women of 40 plus to be giving birth, but I think it's very natural to feel some worry until the little bundle of joy has arrived safely into the world. I hope that your sister has a healthy and happy pregnancy
