Default Do you have any goals for 2022

I wondering if you would like to learn a new skill, start a hobby, take up running etc next year.

I'd love to brush up on my Portuguese. I've been trying to find a sort of Zoom course because I'm a bit too worried to go to one in person (covid anxiety & being uncomfortable in a mask). Ideally, I'd like to join a little online group instead of 1:1 tuition and for it to be at the weekend.

After the last two years, setting goals doesn't seem like something I should do. I do have loose plans though and whilst 2021's goals weren't achieved, there were a lot of positives.

I'm a Wigan Athletic fan, we don't believe in goals

I'm hoping to get the house and garden sorted next year, both are a complete mess.

To finish tapering from the medication and to start healing.
To continue to keep my head above water and to not drown.

Oh, and to start exercising more in the form of countryside walks.

Probably just to drive more in order to be more confident at it. Since I got my car in September I've only driven 75 miles, which seems like hardly anything (although I was away for a month). I feel confident driving in the US since the lanes and roads are so wide and you can be moving for quite a while without ever needing to stop, but here the stopping and starting all the time and the narrow roads makes me feel constantly anxious.

To freaking relax. I am done with being stressed about everything right now.

Aside from that, I want to get back into a good exercise/eating routine again, but it's not a major need. I think I'm a pretty healthy individual! I just want to get better about it.

I think that we can't force ourselves to relax. Relaxing for me, I find, comes from having a certain need met. For example, my granny just suggested we walk to the high road and window shop today. After going out, despite not wanting to, I'm more relaxed. I'm more relaxed when i have positive social experiences as well. I feel like we can't really directly control anxiety and stress. It's like fitness, it comes through a healthy lifestyle I think the same applies with anxiety and stress although society doesn't focus enough on practicing healthy mental health and rather expects us to be able to turn off emotions such as shyness.

That's true! I'm probably not going to stop until I get all my ducks in a row. ^_^; It'll be a freeing feeling to be out of the country, but I still have more to do as I need to come back for my dog (hopefully) and my stuff in March/April.

But this month has been harrowing. Every week I'm panicking about something, and for the most part I've been panicking for "no reason." But it's kind of like, everything bad is happening at once and it's horrible lol. As soon as I'm out of here in January I'll feel a lot better.

Good luck on your Driving goal BTW

Crack bedtime routine.

I don't sleep enough, which I'm sure affects my mental health. It's 2:45am, good morning everyone !

I'm thinking of doing a 10,000 step daily challenge in January, or February need to buy myself a treadmill.

If you do go ahead with your 10,000 step daily challenge perhaps it will inspire me to give it a go too

My goal is to finally move out myself, and get my own place and mortgage. It's been an on and off goal for years now, but I've never fully pulled the trigger and committed on it, till now. Partly it's been lack of funds, and for a few years there it was on hold because of being in relationship meant I had to take someone else into account. But it's also been on hold, possibly largely, due to fear. Not so much fear of living alone, but fear of leaving my family behind and breaking up our little life.

I know and accept that I've probably been in a state of arrested development for years now, and should've done this 15-20 years ago, but I still feel somewhat safe in this bubble and this routine that me and my family have had since the 90s, and I'm scared to break it. Not just for my own sake, but also my parents: I have the fear me going will be the final push for them into accepting old age. While I'm around it's like if you squint, it's still the 90s. But I need to do it now. I have the money and a steady job, and I'm not getting any younger. And now I'm single again, I guess I only have myself to think about now, so that isn't holding me back. I'll be honest, I think me still living at home was one of the reasons my relationship failed, so before I embark on trying to meet someone again, I want my own place so I feel like I'm on more of a grown-up, confident footing. So yeah, that's me 2022 goal: get my own place.

Develop the habits of going for walks, eating better, and managing my money better. Not sure that if I did those I'd be radically happier, but they are all things that really need to be done.

My goals are to keep moving forward in life. Where I traverse life's obstacles. While also planning ahead when I can

Or another way of putting it

I still haven't got around to making any solid goals right now

but it will probably involve a celery stick

I also take inspiration from this 1990's advert. Mainly as it's so upbeat

^ Oh no, not a celery stick! You'd be better off arming yourself with some of those products from that lovely upbeat advert, they seem to enable women to do all sorts of things

Most of my goals are the same as for this year. In other words, I haven't got as far as I'd have liked.
