Apologies, Dougella! í*½í¸•â™¥ï¸I am crap with names. Thank you for recommending Act. To answer your questions, I googled Act therapist. It takes me 45min to get there as they don't seem to be common, but it's worth the drive and the expense.
I read that I am improving by comparing how my feelings and behaviour have changed to a similar situation in which my anxiety would normally be triggered. I feel less resentful about people or past events. I went out of my comfort zone and joined the theatre. I am learning to express myself when someone has upset me instead of seething and making things worse. I am learning to put things into perspective which is better for my mental health. ♥️

^ No problem, quite a few people around here have found ACT helpful and recommended it at different times. I'm really glad to hear it's helping you!
I'll admit I hadn't thought of looking for a therapist who uses ACT specifically. It would be so good if it was more available in the NHS.

Very annoyed with myself for breaking my phone again
This is the fourth phone screen I've broken but it's made worse this time because all my photos are on my phone which I now can't use

LaraCroft: That's really good to hear and interesting about the ventral vagal nerve. I also feel the same way.

I've always imagined myself living alone, TrulyBlue and I've not yet managed it. If I end up hating it I will be sorely disappointed! I would like to have people I could call on nearby for a cup of tea though.

I'm sorry to hear that Al x

I have a nice neighbour who has asked me in for cups of tea but I don't take her up on the offer because it's something that would send my anxiety through the roof.. Not being able do 'normal' everyday things without feeling fearful sucks

Sorry to hear this, Consolida! I've always admired your kind and thoughtful replies on this forum! And the reason why I mention that, is because I would like your help with this post right now. So here's what I've got so far:

Consolida is great!

I really hope the best for you!

Please stay strong!

It's also a bit humid lately

Although, asking you to help me with my post, so that I can then reply to your post, might not be the correct way of going about this.

But in all seriousness

Very sad this morning. I had a dream about my ex and I wrote my thoughts down.

We were together in a hotel talking. You were bored, so you left to find your friends, and you never came back. You and your girlfriends are talking about me, judging me as not good enough for you. They are probably right. I went out into the street to find you but you weren't anywhere. There was water alongside where I was walking and I considered throwing myself in. But I thought that would be a bit of a pathetic end. So I went back to see my family. Mum is always there, but not forever of course. When will I learn to grow up? And maybe join you when you meet your friends? I think I understand why you left.

I don't believe in bottling stuff up, but in some cases I think it worth asking yourself, 'is this really my business?', as it might be something for the concerned to resolve between them. On the other hand, if you feel very strongly, then I would say something and don't bite your tongue.

Is it one of your rats? I very much hope that there is a miracle and that your much loved pet recovers or at the very least he/she gets some help from a vet and doesn't suffer

I feel like I want to speak to Samaritains right now because I feel like I can't cope with my life at the moment, and I have no one to talk to. But I know I am not going to call them because I'm not desperate enough and it's going to be a waste of their ressources.

^ If you feel like you can't cope with your life at the moment then that sounds like a good enough reason to me to phone the Samaritans.
I phoned them years ago and it did help to hear a kindly voice at the end of the line. Like you, I felt like I wasn't coping and I think the call to the Samaritans helped to stop me from spiralling further downwards during the dead of the night when life always feels so much more hopeless.

Make that call Tortilla

And continue to post here too
