At work sometimes recently our department works in the hotels restaurants as our department is quiet currently.

The manager at the restaurant I work at in the hotel is passive aggressive to me and doesn’t seem to like me. Today I said hi and didn’t get as response. She was with another colleague that also recently is cold towards me. Most colleagues aren’t like this though.

There was a timetable mixup this week as my manager said I would work in my normal department today but the restaurant put me on afternoon shift but as my manger said I should work with him I ended not turning up to the restaurant when she WhatsApped me to come in the work group chat. It felt good to not have to go. Also I’ve noticed every shift I have at the restaurant she is off. If I was honest I would just plain out say that I don’t want to work at the restaurant. It’s not the restaurant itself though that I dislike.

It felt a bit like karma as just before my shift the passive aggressive boss was passive aggressive. It didn’t literally make me smile but kinda gave me hope. Like I could be a bit more assertive.

The world is a bit poopy at the minute with everything going on, so I'm gonna keep this one simple.
A nice 14 hours sleep. That definitely makes me happy

My new hair straighteners are absolutely amazing!
Omg! They heat up in seconds and the straightening lasts most of the day instead of 33.7 seconds on my old pair.

Today I bought a big ol' bag of bark. I managed to get it in the trolley by sliding it off the pile and letting it drop into the trolley. They only had deep trolleys. Could I get it out of the trolley and into the boot of my car? I was hugging it and trying to drag it up. It kept slipping back into the trolley. This was going on for about ten minutes.

Then this man walked past and asked, "Do you need any help with that, love?!"

So he put it in the boot for me. I hope something extra nice happens to him.

Same thing happened when I bought some compost from B&M. Two fellas loaded up the car for me. One of them even took the trolley back for me and gave me the pound back.

People are so nice!

Just saw a McCain’s advert where a kid said him and his brother had autism. And he didn’t seem noticeably unusual. It made me feel like it may be the beginning of more awareness of high functioning autism. There may be a more wider movement to make autism less stigmatised in the upcoming years.

Kids a bit younger than me used autism as an insult as teens since in the mid 10s homophobia became uncool. I think at work I see the effects of this as people in their early 20s aren’t necessarily less judgmental towards high functioning autism, like some members of my age group, particularly if they are religious may not be fully accepting of lgbtq.

I love the 'tbh creature' meme because when I'm spacing out or have brainfog this is exactly what I look like to everybody:

Ta Percy. I had to google. Apparently it is viewed by many as the mascot for autism. It's very cute!

^ adorable

I saw a lady today and she stopped me and said to me, "I think I taught you!"
She was my Year Two primary school teacher!
I cannot believe that she remembered me!! I got a bit star struck and said, "Wow! I absolutely loved you!"

The few supportive people at my workplace. Most people aren't really nice or supportive to me.

^^ Is she still teaching? Most of the teachers that taught me must be retired now (.. you know you're getting old when).

I discovered a bird nesting in one of our older/barely used work vans, under the bumper...? I told one of the senior guys and they've taken note. Found out later yesterday he was putting water out for the parents.

^ yep, she's still teaching. I can't believe I professed my love for her hahah but I really did adore her when I was a child.

Now that I think back, she gave me a bit of a bad school report. I remember my parents being cross with me and the head teacher wrote a comment about me too haha. Whoops.

I contacted a lady that sells plants in December looking for a string of turtles plant that I would have liked to get for my sister (for Christmas). The lady said she'd message me when she gets them in stock. She messaged me yesterday to say she has some. I thought it was really sweet of her to remember 7 months later and now I can finally get one for my sister who has been after one for a while.

Christmas presents in July.

^what a nice name, "string of turtles". I had to Google and the name is fitting and the plant is lovely too.

It's been a few hours but I'm still pathetically touched by the random act of kindness of a stranger.

A groceries delivery driver today checked my eggs before handing them to me, so just to try and make conversation I told him about the one time in the past that one egg was missing from of the box (and that I had thought that was funny). After I'd finished collecting all my stuff and was about to close the door, he asked "did you get a refund?", I think I must have looked confused because he added "about the eggs". So I laughed and said no, it was only one egg.

Later on, I checked my emails and I got refund for eggs.

Beautiful, aren't they

Aww that's so sweet that he made sure they gave you the refund. One missing egg haha how funny. I wonder if someone went shopping and thought, "I only need one of these!" A bit like people do with bananas from the bunch.

This is not one to click on if you are afraid of spiders.

This is so cool! A scientists has been studying jumping spiders as they sleep and believes that their twitching and eye movements suggest they dream!

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/08/s...eping-rem.html

Of course spiders are unable to confirm or deny this.
