Post Too socially anxious to get help for social anxiety?

Hi everyone, I’m a student on a journalism course who has struggled with social anxiety since my early teens. For my big final project, it felt natural to write about it, based on my own difficulties.

As part of this I’m also looking to talk to other women (aged 18+) in the UK who have social anxiety, and wondered if anyone here might be willing to help? (I’ve already spoken to quite a few men)

The article is a long read about how people with social anxiety tend to suffer in silence, growing up undiagnosed then waiting years before seeking help, if we do at all.

If this is you, and you wouldn’t mind being featured in the (unpublished) piece, please get in touch at rebecca.norris@city.ac.uk

I completely understand if you wouldn’t be comfortable speaking over the phone, so happy to just send some questions via email if you’d prefer.

Thank you so much.
