Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
silly YouTube adverts rehetorically asking things like
" should the world's most powerful monocular be banned? " well, yes,.. if it stops you talking about the cheap Chinese rubbish, yes, please ban it. "should the world's most powerful torch, which can burn through brick walls be banned? " yes, please ban it, I'd never buy anything that mental and dangerous anyway, "should the world's most indestructible drone cost as little as £39.00?" yes, it should, as it's probably cheap plastic mass-produced Chinese rubbish, . now, go away and let me watch the rest of that documentary please |

Instagram expecting or trying to force you to save your login details. There needs to be laws that sites need to give you the option to not choose to save login options. I have 2 Instagram accounts. I’m using one less as I find it makes me depressed. However I’m that account I also follow my sister and cousins so checkup on it a bit. Every single time I go on it Instagram always asks if I would like to save the login details. No thanks as I’m trying to limit my time on that account.

Sensations from certain fruits.
1. Peaches. After having some peach juice the other day, I really fancy a peach, but can’t cope with the fuzz. I wonder if you can shave a peach to de-fuzz it and make it touchable. 2. Easy Peeler varieties of small orange. That air pocket between the orange and the peel when you peel them...eeee...it’s all baggy...makes me feel all strange and shivery inside. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
I'm trying to rebook a driving test for a friend since she's at work all day and can't do it herself. The earliest date she could get was in October so I'm refreshing the page trying to bring it forward, but there isn't anything available. She had to do her theory test again a couple of weeks ago because it expired in April. It doesn't make sense that the theory test is valid for two years, yet they wouldn't extend it in this country even though for the last year and a bit driving lessons haven't been possible for long periods of time. She couldn't even book her driving test until she'd passed her theory test either, so all the driving test slots for this year were quickly filled up as soon as they opened while she was waiting to do it.

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
This is petty but my mum asking why I’m not going to work in a worried tone. I’ve bloody worked two days, 11 hour shifts, before that 6 hour shifts.
I feel I can’t wait to move out but would need to move into a studio flat or something. I can’t feel like an adult with my mum. Sometimes treats me like a child and conversations aren’t fair they lead to arguments as sometimes she doesn’t want to listen to my point. The relationship is codependent. Last time I moved out I didn’t like the environment I moved too, poor preparation on my part. However I slap felt guilty for leaving my mum and she acted more depressed, called me to help with stuff. She is mentally ill and none of it neighbours are friends and don’t offer support. But if I move out I can call but I don’t need to feel guilty for it as I also have my needs. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^ Yes, you have to put your needs first especially as you are young and have your whole life ahead of you. You can show your mum support (as you do) but she is definitely not your responsibility even if she does have a serious mental illness. Does she receive plenty of support from mental health services? It's such a lot for you to cope with otherwise
It can be hard for mum's to see their children as adults (my mum still treats me like a child!) and I am struggling not to see my 18 year old as a little boy. It's very difficult to let go It would be great if you can get yourself a studio flat at some point. My first place was a studio flat and it was so nice to have some independence and privacy. As much as I love her, I would have gone nuts if I'd continued to live with my mum. Since the Pandemic the amount of spam phone calls and emails has gone through the roof Every day now the phone goes and it's one of those automated calls from HM revenue and customs. And then there's the emails about an African Priest who helps a white man gain 6 inches. I mean, does anyone fall for that? |

To be honest the mental health services don't do much but give meds. I tried asking for support and they said everything was fine without even telling me what the problems were. She gets support by the gp. The first time I called they pretended she wasn't registered with them so I got the crisis team to call them and they called my mum, the mentally ill person, to justify no extra support was needed. I felt it was lazy of them but didn't bother to ask more. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
It is terrible as to how bad it has to be before someone gets support sometimes.
I went to an allocations meeting today and 2 pathfinder clinicians came a long to it (they link into local mental health teams). Sat listening to a couple of individual cases and well it's quite depressing really. One was someone that if you heard what was going on for them you'd think they needed support/help/assessment but is seen by the system as 'not urgent'. Another lady who is moving between CMHT's is stuck in limbo cause no body actually seems to be doing anything regarding her transfer. And no one has actioned a home visit to assess her potential psychosis. It's all just left up in the air (this has been left for a couple of months or more). Makes you wonder what the hell lead practioners do all day. Sorry to hear your mum doesn't get the right support. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^ Maybe she kind of knows she's having a negative effect on how you feel and gets a kick out of that somehow. I would just not answer if I were you, and if she asks why you didn't answer say you were busy or not feeling well, and that if she phoned later in the day she can speak to your husband and sons, like you said.

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
The lack of any kind of communication from mental health. Richmond fellowship lady got the pathfinder clinician to look at my notes. I've been discharged from the lead practioner (but not told) and am now under the psychologist that I saw, however she hasn't written anything up from my assessment (1st week of Mar). But that the pathfinder clinician said it's probable nothing will be done as I had BT (which I didn't need or ask for) and graded exposure (2 or 3 sessions over zoom of just updating her on nothing - cause nothing was achieved).
What I'm actually annoyed at is the fact there is zero communication regarding what is going on. If the psychologists report is a fob off then that is it, i'm biting the bullet and getting a referral for a private shrink. I have just about had it with the NHS. The Richmond Fellowship lady had also asked for a copy of the ASD assessment letter I had last year. I of course can't find it after moving Contacted my GP surgery and asked for a copy. She went through my notes over the phone and said she simply couldn't find it. So i concluded I must have imagined that a copy was sent. Found the email of the referrer, explained and asked if I could have the contact details of the service etc.. She very kindly contacted them for me and they sent me a copy of the letter - which had been sent to my GP surgery! and my estimate for assessment which is possibly Aug 2022 ish. As there is a 3 yr wait. I don't mind waiting to be fair. Why does everything have to be so un simple. |

^^ Crikey Mo, you really couldn't make it up could you!
It's a shame that more and more people are having to seek very expensive private treatment out of sheer desperation because the NHS is becoming woefully inadequate at providing decent healthcare |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^^ Thanks Nanuq, I will check it out Tho to be honest the wait for an ASD assessment I can handle. Tho I can see why ppl find it so frustrating.
It's the ATS that wind me up. Which is more about anxiety/personality disorder. I am pretty convinced now that the latter is my main issue. Zero will be done is my prediction. ^ Yes, it does seem to be increasingly the norm sadly . To be fair NHS mental health has always been rubbish, tho seems to have got significantly worse since past restructures and the introduction of 'time to talk' in terms of accessing real secondary care. That and the fact their (here anyway) working now using a business model to provide care. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
The pervasiveness of manufactured 'culture war' bobbins. You can't escape from it. I just googled to see what hours shops will be open today, and even before you get to the actual search results there's a sample of tweets (for some reason), one of which is someone I've never heard of ranting about how BLM aims to undermine the fabric of society. It's not even one of those things where the results are based on your own activity, it literally says it's from Twitter being searched with the words 'bank holiday opening hours'.
God, it's like having the Daily Mail comment section bleeding into your world like a bunch of Cenobites, and I haven't even been fiddling with a magic Hell box. |

They are closing the only realistic road for me to get into work all next week due to "emergency repairs"
I suspect that means someones finally bothered to check the knackered old bridge and realised it needs resurfacing at the very least. I'm going to have to walk to work this week, I am not a happy bunny, I don't want an extra 40 minutes of walking in my day |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
what on earth warrants putting up bright flashing disco lights on the outside of a property in the middle of june!? I have just noticed this on my security camera as it's facing straight on to my bedroom and really bright and flippin intrusive. this better not permeate through my blackouts! honestly just sick and tired of this bs.

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^ I've noticed that the shops are awash with all-dancing-all flashing garden lights of every description this Summer. It's not my cup of tea, but I think some people like to set up a disco atmosphere while they're sipping their pornstar martinis and cooking on the barbie in between the rain showers. Or maybe it's Christmas come even earlier? Whatever the reason, I agree that it's incredibly annoying when the sights and sounds of neighbours start to invade our homes. I hope your black out curtains are up to the job!

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^ yes I don't understand it. are they all secret casanova's or porn stars by night!? I also don't understand why they stick them at the back of the place.... if they put them out the front then it would be on a big open road which overlooks an empty pub flooded with street lights. I don't think anyone would have a problem with that? it's these sorts of decisions that really wind me up. put them out the front and I can't see how they would annoy anyone, put them out the back and they surely know they can potentially wind people up since there are so many properties its going to be intrusive for.
thankfully they had some decency to turn it off before I went to bed last night. they've left bright flashing christmas lights on overnight before. really feels like I am at the mercy of whatever decision they make. |

Vehicles parking up with music thumpingly loud. Bad enough when they drive past you like that but at least it's only fleeting and if they want to deafen themselves then go for it, but whyyyy park and sit there like it. Turn it down/off for the love of
This is another reason why summer is irritating, too hot to shut your windows and not have to hear the idiots (or at least muffle them somewhat) Aaaand now the roadworks have restarted, while someone in the distance is using the obligatory angle grinder. Stupid noise Tl;dr Noise. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
I sent some flowers to my sister, some of those trendy baked flowers...I typed in her address as the delivery address but somehow typed my postcode as the delivery postcode, so they got delivered to my address and not hers, even though the delivery address is completely her address apart from my postcode. In the olden days, when it was person operated they would have worked out this error and sent it to the right place.
What an idiot I am for putting in the wrong postcode haha you just get so used to it. |
