Miss your school days?
I always hear people saying to kids/teens complaining about school that they will miss it when they have left and it will be one of the best times they have.
Did/do you miss school? Personally I don't, it was crap with turd sprinkles! |

Re: Miss your school days?
Not really.
Most of the things I remember from both primary and secondary, is being bullied and being left out of things. And thats just primary school - secondary is much worse, as i'm sure a lot of people agree. Being in a building with hundreds of teenagers is hell on earth. Of course I do have some positive memories...but mostly it is negative unfortunatly. 'Best years of your life' - bullshit. I think only the popular people would think that school was the best years of their lives. |

Re: Miss your school days?
I liked the first few years of school when the kids werent so cruel, and you just played games and things all day long, that was fun. I miss that but I think that's more about missing being 4 years old than anything. The rest of school was a bit crap though, there were a few good things but no way do I miss it.
I guess I'm only a few years out of school though, maybe in twenty years my view of it will have changed - memories do that. |

Re: Miss your school days?
I hated school with a passion when I was there but I do miss certain aspects of it now. The friends I had when I was there and the typical immature humour which could be hilarious at times, I guess I miss certain people more than anything, ones who weren't exactly close friends but who I was always happy to see.
My anxiety was nowhere near as bad back then than it is now and although there were alot of bad memories for me, there were also some fantastic ones too. |

Re: Miss your school days?
I hated primary school and high school. I was probably the only person who didn't cry when I left primary school and... well, I just hated high school with a vengeance - couldn't have been more pleased that I was leaving and getting rid of all those hated people from my life for good.

Re: Miss your school days?
Secondary school was the worst experience of my life, so not a chance. With that said being a kid and at primary school was good but memories there are vague or blur into each other.

Re: Miss your school days?
No. It's the opposite... each time school memories pop into my mind, I feel relieved that those days are never coming back.

Re: Miss your school days?
No. There was some years in primary school I liked but they were mostly overshadowed by the negative experiences later on. Those experiences made me terrified and as avoid-ant of people in secondary school, even though no one really bothered me then, but the fear remained and so my psychologists gave me permission to leave before year 9. I find it really hard to deal with even if someone adds me from primary or secondary school as it brings back that fear in me still, even though I have nothing to worry about now, idiotic really.

Re: Miss your school days?
I miss not having to be responsible for anything. And I miss the future being full of possibilities. I miss not having screwed up the majority of my twenties and missed or wasted so many of the opportunities that I had in that time.
But that's about it. Everything else I'm either indifferent to or am happy to be past and rid of. It's not a time I'd ever want go back to. |

Re: Miss your school days?
Primary school was fairly carefree, but I don't miss secondary school in the slightest. Worst days of your life, more like.

Re: Miss your school days?
I don't miss public school at all. It was the intense verbal bullying there that contributed to the severe social anxiety and severe mental illness

Re: Miss your school days?
Nooo. I hated school. I liked learning things, but the people (both fellow pupils and teachers - there are a few exceptions of course) not so much. Primary school wasn't too bad, but secondary, and especially sixth form, was baaad.

Re: Miss your school days?
HELL NO!
Besides a single year at a private school I only got into because they able to cover my fees by charitable means. Very expensive fees. Other than that - School was a very rough period of my life due to all the learning difficulties I had and inability to communicate very well. +Some. |

I don't miss the schooldays i had... i sometimes wish i could go back, with the stuff i know now and re-live it all again, but make the most out of it, who knows how if things were done differently in school alone then i might not have any form of sa and be "normal"... unfortunately there is no rewind button on life though |

I miss school to an extent. I couldn't wait to leave school when I was there but my experiences after I've left haven't exactly been great.

Re: Miss your school days?
Sure why not, I have some great memories from school especially due to friendships. Like everyone else I also have some bad ones but I did quite love going to school especially maths class :D.

I don't miss it one bit. I was badly bullied and it completely destroyed my self-esteem.

Re: Miss your school days?
Ugh NO. Secondary school in particular was the pits (bullied beyond belief).
I'll never forget the absolutely euphoric feeling I had running through the school gates on the final day of secondary school, knowing I never had to go back there. People were standing about crying and hugging because they were "so upset" -- I was overspilling with joy and couldn't contain myself :S |

Re: Miss your school days?
i was tormented in school from age 10 until i was 17.
the shame is hard 2 shake-off, even now. i could never miss those days of terror & abuse. the poor self esteem that resulted from it made me cower to a neglectful & cruel husband for 2 decades. (although my crazy mother also gets some credit 4 that). thanks 4 the thread... so glad i have my SA pals |
