^ poh.. that is frustrating!! When you next speak to someone, ask to talk to a manager or supervisor person as you're complaining about them offering you a deal and then going back on it. They'll have more room to budge on price.
Hope you manage to get a cheaper deal! |

Yeah, kick up a bit of fuss but not too pushy, get the superiors involved. It's annoying because there must've been an intervention somewhere because he was more than happy to offer £21.74 p/m, and i did ask to confirm exactly what was being offered and he said that price in a new 18 month contract, so there was no mistake. Ah well...

And it goes on. I've just been transferred (again) after the last person i spoke to actually confirmed that the cheaper price is being honoured and that the £44 charge in the contract email is because you pay a month in advance, 'as per policy'....

It's really poor is what it is, and deliberate.. ? Misinforming, confusing, making things up - i don't know who to believe
![]() And the email she sent me of the contract was the same as the previous one, which i knew would be the case and i told her so too. I logged into my account and looked at the recently updated 'contract' and it appears to be a one off payment of £44 p/m. Perhaps it's recurring/rolling, i don't know. It certainly isn't 18 months at £21.74 p/m. I'm still waiting for that next person ![]() |

That is confuzzling. Ask for a detailed breakdown of the yearly price plan that shows that you're paying the £21.74.
Good luck with the next person! Does this help/make sense: https://my.virginmedia.com/discover/...r-bill/intro.h |

Yeah, that's what i'm after - something that clearly shows what i'm entering into and the monthly cost. Simple as that.
Hmm, i've glossed over a couple of things there. Says something about a new bill taking up to 16 days to generate, but that's for new customers. I don't really want to read any further, it's not something i have any patience for whatsoever. Thanks for sharing though. |

Yay, i won...... i think. I've been through several more agents, been told 'no, can't do that offer', been transferred more times than i care to mention - it's been a little exhausting. The last person i spoke with wanted various info and asked for the screenshots, at which point he conceded to honour the deal, finally.
I won't jump and shout just yet until i see it properly in email or changed in my virgin media account, though this time it seemed more officially 'signed off'. We shall see. |

Worth a try moaning though because they did say £21.74! |

Yeah, it's better, but the figures we were agreeing on, yet again, were £21.74. I just don't understand how they're getting away with this, i'm sure i'm not the only one. It's blatant fraud.
I'll try again tomorrow. |

Good luck tomorrow! You're £7 something away. Surely they'll knock it down to the amount they promised.

Cheers, Bix. I'm going to raise a complaint. I may look into taking it up with Ofcom or the Ombudsman, whichever one it is i can take it to. It's such bs that we're subjected to. I think it's endemic across the whole industry to **** people around when it comes to contract renewals. Most people haven't got time for this shit.

Update:
Yesterday i didn't get anywhere because my inquiry wasn't answered. Today, i've just spoken to someone who has arranged £6.76 credit for each month of the contract. I have no idea why they couldn't just rewrite the contract to make it £21.76 rather than £28 - £6.24cr ![]() |

I so don't trust these snakey people. I just got an email, which has been classed as a complaint now, with the details of the one off credit - no where does it say about it applying for each month of the contract. It doesn't even acknowledge the contract - it's just a one off credit.

Is a recovery coach basically the same thing as peer support work?

^ I've had coaching training. The idea is to use active listening and questioning techniques to help people decide on their (achievable) goals and support them to come up with an action plan. It's very much supporting the other person to come up with the ideas and solutions for themselves - rather than telling them what to do. And meeting up with them to check how things are going and if the action plan needs changing. It's all about putting things in to place to support a successful recovery and having a sort of safety plan for when things get challenging.
It's basically supporting someone to come up with their goals and own action plan for recovery. Whereas peer support is support from someone who has also experienced and recovering from what you are experiencing. There's no coaching involved. |

Just check the 'post a poll' tickbox in the additional options part when you create a thread and hit submit, it'll then take you to the poll part of the thread where you create options.

A lesser known poll-tip is that once you have made a thread....
You can click on "thread tools" on the top right and it gives you the option to add a poll to the thread. |
