Now I’m thinking I am not quitting Instagram but blocking it and using it less frequently. It’s how I use Instagram? I feel this is true, I feel the need of some validation from it but at the same time I don’t feel the need, without forcing myself, to post. But then if I share something and get no attention I start to feel like my followers aren’t really followers or find me boring. It feels like I have to prove myself on Instagram, which isn’t healthy.

Facebook is actually alright. I have 3 friends on it, but I use it for group interactions and occasionally messenger.

Thanks everyone! It was just on the telly and they did include a shot of me at the till with my t-Rex arms which is embarrassing but it was good fun. My boss recorded it and sent it to me so I’ve just sent it to my sister so she can show my mum.

^ I wouldn't feel too guilty about not going to his wedding, you weren't to know the circumstances. It is sad for his children though and for him that, like you say, he won't be part of their lives and future.

Soooo happy!

We had the best news today. Our dog's cancer hasn't spread. She's got some sort of irritable bowel and has to go on a special dry food diet with zero treats, ever. Awww bless her. Just so happy that she's going to be okay :D

^ What a bad time for someone to be hammering on your door. That would have stressed me out too.

I would have felt exactly the same way as you, Nanuq, thanks to good old SA, but you know these days people's working hours are all over the place and more people than ever are also working from home PLUS plenty of people aren't working due to ill health so honestly no one would think anything negative about you having a bath during the day
The other day when my husband went to fill up with petrol there was a man at the garage in his dressing gown and folk hardly batted an eyelid

@ Biscuits - Aww that's great news about your dog. It must be such a huge relief
Tell her that NO doggie treats is a small price to pay for her good health and a long life with those who love her

Feeling unwell due to the bad pains in my legs so wishing more than ever that a man wasn't coming around later to talk about the possibility of having a new kitchen fitted. We've been living with our hideous old kitchen for over 5 years while we save up for a new one so I should be pleased, which I am, but I just don't want to be talking about it today with some masked up stranger

Also, I've been suffering with toothache on and off for weeks and have finally decided on an extraction. Phoned the Dentist today and the earliest I can be fit in is the end of July! The tooth is behaving at the moment, but if I have another flare up I might pull it out myself with some pliers!

Oh and the end of July is just the consultation NOT the actual extraction

@Nanuq

I wouldn't worry about it, based on how many people are out and about and loitering at the pubs..I'm not sure half the country are even working at the moment anyway! (It's never taken me so long to get home!)

@Consolida

I have no real words of wisdom on teeth because I'm the person who will avoid a dentist till I have a major problem (I've avoided them for years so far) But a girl at work was shaking like a leaf the other day, apparently she had an abscess? They basically told her to ring 111 and you can queue jump? cant you make it out to sound worse than it is?! She spent about 4hrs on the phone waiting for 111 to do something and ended up getting seen the same day

It's a bit of a farce when they "rush you through" for an appointment in..what, 14 weeks time?

Thanks Toxic. And Nanuq

I was like you for many years Toxic. I had a phobia of Dentists and avoided them for years. But, pardon the pun, the avoidance does come back to bite you when your teeth begin to show signs of prolonged neglect by becoming rotten and very painful.

I recently had a course of antibiotics for my problem tooth and have been brushing them with sensitive tooth paste and using a special brush to get in to an awkward crevice and it's been bothering me a lot less. I wouldn't feel right making out it's worse than it is at the moment to try and jump the queue but if I have another painful flare up then I'll probably be trampling over peoples heads to be seen. Nah, even when in terrible pain I couldn't be that horrible.

Yes the waiting time is more of a farce than ever but I guess we have the Pandemic to thank for that

^ yeah I'm starting to feel a bit better now I've took some thankfully. My doctors said I shouldn't have ran out yet so they wouldn't prescribe them for a few days which was frustrating lol

^ Glad you've managed to get hold of some now, 3stacks, and are starting to feel better.
It was rather irresponsible of your Doctor not to prescribe the Venlafaxine as soon as you told him you'd run out. He must know how rotten a few missed doses can make people feel

I’m calmer and more relaxed than I’ve been in months. It’s been a great week, people in general are much happier than they were and everything is much less stress than it was before the last lockdown. My volunteers are starting to come back into their usual shifts, although this week it’s been just me and my numero uno. I’ve been falling asleep instantly and waking up about half 6 feeling refreshed.
Now what’s going to go wrong I wonder?

Burned out, exhausted and headachy. Just made the mistake of driving into town. Jesus that was a shock. So many people - kids crying, teenagers yelling and screaming with excitement...overwhelming. Then sat in traffic for half an hour in order to travel the three miles home. God, I wish I lived in a calm, quiet, civilised country. This town is turning into a holding pen for chavs. If it wasn’t for family and mental illness, I would definitely emigrate. I wouldn’t care where I went so long as it was quiet and empty.

^ Never go into a town on a Saturday unless you absolutely have to has become my motto, it's always too busy! I think everyone's particularly over excited at the moment with things starting to open back up too. There are nice places in this country though, my little town is pretty calm and peaceful on a weekday.

I don't think I intend to go back out in the public for about 5 months if the recent traffic is anything to go by. It also doesn't help round here that our council have Now just started to dig up every single road imaginable..not like when we were in lockdown or anything, thats far too logical

I'm binging on the PS5 and slightly out of date hotel chocolat easter bunnies, I've not had anything remotely alcoholic for ages..I seem to just want chocolate these days

I went for a nice walk and did a bit of foraging for a wild salad (not the easiest thing in urban areas), but then the groups socialising in the park affected my SA and I started beating myself up again. I think I may have gone past the point of no return ever being able to express myself in such a way, so I prefer solitary pursuits.

I managed to find alium triquetrium (garlic) and some young beech leaves.

I really hope I can get to the stage where I really feel like I’m a part of this society. Sure, I feel partially part of it, but I always feel like an outsider. Even amongst ‘alternative’ or ‘geeky’ people.
