^ Thank you for your kind words @Muggins
I have a few very clear memories of him and yes it does feel like only yesterday that he was still here.
Hopefully he's proud of me, in some way or another.

Default Type what you're thinking about right now (11)

My husband has had a week off in the middle of my three week holiday and it was awesome. Today he went back in to work but his boss wasn't there and he had nothing to do so he came home at 12. It was so great. Now I'm praying for something else to happen tomorrow so I get another day with him. You know what this country needs? Snow days. I miss snow days.

Oh bum! I didn't get made redundant at work today (it was all just wishful thinking), I guess now I'm going to have to really get my arse in gear and do something about getting a new job (or just "something" as I don't really do much anyway and maybe a holiday or any kind of change would be nice).

Not really, I wanted a way out of that place and I thought that a redundancy would be a good way to make a change in my life.

There were no redundancies at our site, there was another site that was announced to be closing down and I thought (I think we all thought) that with a visit due from HR today something might be happening with our site too but it was just a routine visit and was quite the disappointment to me as I really do hate that place.

I thought that the extra push from a redundancy would be the extra motivation I needed to have to get out there and try to do different things (like get a new job) as my current situation leaves me with so little time and such low energy I think it's become almost impossible for me to do anything about it (it's not like I was very capable before I ended up in the current situation but at least I did dream of things being at bit better, which I don't seem to anymore).

I think I'd have to stick it out too long though and end up burnt-out.

(I've also forgot to mention that areas around the site we're based on seem to be getting prepared for redevelopment so there is clear evidence that we cannot carry on where we are and I guess the management will have to decide soon if they invest in moving us or just shut the site down, which is why most people I work with were worried about today's visit).

I don't really think they'll spend the money to move us, I may be wrong, but they have four other sites that all see more work coming through than us and I think it would be easier just for one of them to start doing the work we do, but this could all be years away and I shouldn't wait that long, it really is time to start doing something about changing, I just wish I could get some energy back first

I'm chatting to a nice girl who...seems to like me...

Especially when she has a few to drink, she makes it quite obvious

I find myself in a strange situation that I've never really found myself in before....I actually dont like the attention, this is most bizarre, most men in my position would be legging it to her house, I just want to go to bed and watch TV

I don't know if its the anxiety in me..or..I don't know, I don't think I want to be with anyone, no one gets me! maybe its because I seemingly have the sex drive of a cabbage, I'm really not interested......yet I'm sure I'll be complaining about being lonely before long.

She must think I'm off my trolley, I tend to agree

Who left the bathroom tap running this morning?
Is there a way to rewind the water meter?

I see that Sainsbury's have introduced a new range of same sex valentines cards, it's long overdue in my opinion.
I have just six days to find a victim to send one to! Lol

^^ so if they catch the people in your footage( I assume that haven't seen the footage and wouldn't know if it was the same perp?) they'll hit you up for it, but if not then...epic.

That I have to endure three more days of work this week now (I had today off to avoid cycling in the rain or switching to the bus).

@Clementine
I'm sorry to hear you're feeling like things are pointless, I can relate to the writing replies and then not posting them because they don't seem right, I do it a lot
You replied to several of my posts before and I'm grateful for the encouragement and support you gave me, they meant a lot and I've seen your replies to other members and you always come across as caring and supportive

I hope that you are feeling more positive very soon

I actually have nothing better to do with my time than to give myself a chocolate Hitler 'tache, but I've eaten it all already I guess I'll just have to go out and buy another one.

That's what talking to me will do to a person

Seriously though, sorry to hear that. That tends to be how it goes for me too, where suddenly the colour drains out of everything, I feel like a used teabag, and I just want to curl up and sleep, hoping when I wake up things just seem better somehow.

Life would be a hundred times easier if I could reliably use the phone. I've never found a coping method that works.
