An all inclusive holiday was not supposed to be inclusive of covid!

Just me so far, I'm in isolation trying to make sure it stays that way. 38.99 temperature earlier today so not great. Luckily no symptoms until last day of holiday when we were travelling home.

I'm thinking the world has gone mad.

If you buy a BMW the car is fitted with certain hardware that you aren't able to use unless you subscribe to their service.

You own the car but you don't own the ability to use it.

Eg high beam assistant. The cars fitted with front facing cameras to dip headlights automatically but you have to pay 10 quid a month to use it.

Like buying a pair of trainers and having to subscribe to use the walk function.

^ I thought they'd dropped that stuff. They were doing it with the heated seats but it received massive backlash
Modern car manufacturers are scary in the scope of the stuff they do. Some are actually keeping all the text messages you send with the car. And their privacy policy for using their data services allows them to collect data such as "sexual activity". I mean WTF?

It's so scummy. I wonder what the legality is of having your car modified to turn on features like that? I guess it can void the warranty, but if you own the car, isn't it up to you what you do with it? Unless they move towards car ownership being more of a subscription service, where you're just leasing the right to drive it.

^^ Yes, it's such an annoying trend. To set up my laptop I had to provide a personal mobile and email address! I don't know how this power dynamic shifted so much. You won't be allowed to flush the toilet without 2 factor authentication next

Can't flush because you've run out of Toilet Credits, and then there's a data breach at Armitage Shanks and it gets hacked, making the lid flap up and down and bog roll fly about the place.

Why is the team leader on this job such a turd?
He knows two of us are going straight to another job that is seen as the flagship site.

Last week we spoke to our boss and explained we would do six hours (midnight) and then go as it's a three hour drive, this turd is saying "you can't go until 5am"

We're going anyway as it's already been arranged for us to be paid for it, but he's just being a little turd.

I’m probably considered a pushover in real life. But I’m just realising that my mum doesn’t know how to healthily set boundaries, looking at the past. My granny also probably didn’t set the foundations to learn healthy boundary setting as she has a mentality that she knows best. I think this doesn’t allow for communication as I think communication is constantly learning the other persons point of view so actually not always knowing the best and to set boundaries I think you actually have to be shown or have to know that it’s okay to set boundaries.

I think your definition is quite good.

Growing up, I wasn't taught either to communicate or have boundaries.

Now in middle age, I'm still learning to communicate, and think/define boundaries, then learn to maintain them.

Was anyone else all over the place as a teenager? I changed my mind on major issues on a weekly basis. And this is when I invented myself. No wonder I'm a mess. I needed that 20s restructuring.

Wondering how many of the 225 eye drops allegedly in the dropper will actually make it into my eye, and how many of them will (to quote Grandmaster Flash and Mellie Melle) "go up my nose or through my veins, with nothing to gain except killing your brain."

I reckon half the pot will be wasted down my cheeks

^^ I can be clumsy, but less so with age. When I was a kid I was forever falling over or walking into lampposts. And if I had a glass of juice the lot would inevitably end up all over the floor much to my mother's despair.

I actually think I was happier when I used to make absolutely no effort to interact and socialise with other humans, I certainly suffered less disappointments.

Unfortunately making no or little effort to interact and socialise with other humans doesn't protect you from regret, hurt or disappointments, I've tried

It would be easier to say what I'm not thinking about right now. I wish, for once, I could switch my stupid brain off. I came across (as you do) a YouTube video about BPD, and I ticked EVERY box. Suddenly so much about my life fell into place

The distinction between natural and artificial is itself artificial.
Anthrax and uranium are natural, a cow and an apple are artificial.
We are a product of the natural world; if we are perverting it, it is nature perverting itself.
