I just wack on a bit of UK gold and watch an Only Fools & Horses marathon!

TV used to be amazing (before I was born some of the shows but still the repeats were good!)

- Only Fools
- Porridge
- Blackadder (goes fourth! not the others so much)

Even the movies they used to show:
- Hook, the Peter Pan film. One with Robin Williams!
- Mrs Doubtfire
- some of the darker Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, the darker one's not the others!)
- Tim Burton movies! Beetlejuice, his Batman films, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare before Christmas etc
there's a few others I'm missing! but TV was amazing IMO

...now? just can't stand it
the movies, the shows -
Frozen and the countless other new type animated movies,
all the horrible BBC and ITV shows and soaps...sigh.

I remember watching Only Fools and Horses and the Herbie films, ah those where the days!

Now it's all murders and disastrous weddings in soap operas.

Luckily I don't have live TV so can bypass all the crap and just watch some good blu-rays instead

Probably. If I had company I'd probably not notice how crap it is. Last Christmas I was in bed early because the tv schedule was so crap.

I never got into that. The humour escaped me for the most part. Preferred David Jason in Frost( I'm a big one for crime dramas).

Christmas TV (for me at least) used to be all about the sitcom specials bt I don't think there's been a decent british sitcom for about a decade. Extras was the last one I can think of. Those only foools and horses prequels were interesting, watching them felt like tuning in for an event, which was cool, but they weren't that good in the end.

What they should do is just give a bunch of money to a load of conedians and comedy writers, old and new, and give them free reign if an entire channel for a couple of days. Broad, mainstream stand up is always a good pick for Christmas Day. Bring back Jasper Carrott!

I dearly miss the times of the tv guide and highlighter pen. There was no internet, no instant access to 1000's of films at your fingertips and no mobile phones. There were 4 channels and the Christmas specials or the 'big' films on over Christmas were always a big deal. Like Armadillo mentions, I don't watch live tv, I have Netflix and a collection of blurays/dvd's.

I always feel there is absolutely nothing on all day until maybe 6/7 then there may be something I want to watch on.
I loved the "royal family Christmas special" and "gavin and Stacey Christmas special " they should make new ones !

Nothing that grabs me. If I was a kid I would probably enjoy watching all the animated films and older shows again. But as an adult who isn't a fan of Doctor Who, Downton Abbey or Soaps there's not much else to choose from.

I fondly remember watching Only Fools and Horses (repeat) specials a lot many a year ago. Wallace and Gromit too.

I watch little live TV so my current interest is close to zero. Sherlock doe...
