I need carbs so bread.

I'm about to go on a healthy eating kick - I often nick ideas from Michael Mosley and have used his recipes a lot in the past.

So my breakfast next week (If i can overcome carb withdrawl) will be either a scrambled egg with chilli flakes. Or greek yougurt with fruit (berries) and some seeds plus a sprinkle of chopped hazlenuts.

cereal, nothing too sweet usually, though cereal has become ridiculously expensive so it's becoming more difficult to choose. I bought some own brand granola from Morrison's that was ok, really plain, which I prefer. I have porridge quite a bit.
I don't use cow's milk, I have coconut milk.

Normally a bagel, with peanut butter on one half and soft cheese on the other.
If I don't have any bagels, toast.
If I don't have any toast, time to go shopping.

It's usually dough and java. But lately I've been having shredded wheat (no sugar) My taste buds haven't' been happy, but my bowels have been ecstatic!

porridge or Weetabix through the week. I like to have a fried breakfast on a Saturday for a treat, when I have time to make it. On a Sunday I have croissants, bit of jam and coffee every morning.

Nothing usually in the week because at 6:30am the thought of food makes me feel a bit queasy!

At the weekend it depends. Sometimes I'll have muesli or porridge. Sometimes nice bread toast. Sometimes skir yogurt with berries of granola. Sometimes nothing!

One thing I really don't like is staying at a B&B and having to go downstairs to have breakfast. A fry up is something I can't handle. Fried eggs ... eeek. Scrambled eggs... even worse.

Once I asked for just toast and the lady looked at me like I'd asked her to serve me up a freshly laid turd.

Muesli in apple & mango juice, topped with fresh fruit (typically, banana, pineapple, apple, mango & blueberries) and fat-free Greek yoghurt.

If I'm going to be busy all day (eg. long distance drive, going to the airport, attending a music festival), I'll often nip to my local pub (assuming I don't have to start too early, as the pub doesn't open until 8am) for an all-you-can-eat breakfast, then I can avoid paying inflated prices for food later (the breakfast is £5.99, about half the price of a tiny meal at a music festival).

Two cups of freshly filtered coffee (an essential). Then porridge with some blueberries and sliced banana, followed by an apple, and sometimes a shot of kefir. One of the few benefits of getting older, I’ve found, is that I can get up in the morning much earlier than I used to (about 5.30 am these days), which gives me ample time to have a decent breakfast. It doesn't seem that long ago I used to be lucky if I had time for just a few gulps of instant coffee bewteen showering, getting dressed and out the door.
