Feeling like I could do with some sort of spiritual awakening.

The vicar paid us a visit today to talk over the funeral arrangements. She was actually really nice and easy to talk to (I shouldn't have taken that extra lorazepam) and she said some things that momentarily brought me some comfort. It almost made me want to start going to church accept I'm agnostic and my husband is an Atheist.

Amazing what the weather can do when its nice... lifts the mood somewhat... was nice to get out in the garden for the first time this year as the weather has been lovely today since we went into lockdown when covid appeared i really got into my gardening and today was mainly getting the weeding done and cut the grass for the first time this year... the grass needs some attention as its got alot of moss and a few weeds grown so tomorrow will be raking the moss out and re-seeding the lawn where the grass has struggled thru winter...also need to jet-spray the patio as its looking abit grubby... think i may head to bed soon as i'm knackered also need to get up handy to go food shopping as its very quiet when i go which i like...before i go indoor bouldering when it opens around 9am... then the afternoon prob carry on with the garden...

Crappy about having to go back to work soon. You know that feeling you have on holiday. Why do we have to work so much, why must life be like this, why have we done this to ourselves

I feel so sad and hopeless that it's physically painful

My mum will be in the chapel of rest tomorrow and it will be my last ever opportunity to see her. I don't know if I'm up to going though. I feel that I should because I saw my dad in the chapel of rest but I think I was a lot stronger at the age of 23 although the memory of seeing him there - an empty shell - has haunted me always. I don't know how I'm going to get through the funeral on Tuesday without collapsing into a wailing heap. If I could live my life again, knowing what I do now, then I'd not have the ability to feel love because losing someone that you love is the WORST pain imaginable

^ I think it's fine to do what you feel best with. No-one would mind at all if you did fall into a wailing heap, I think I would feel exactly the same in your situation.

Feeling like I have no tears left
I went to to see my mum for the very last time today and was able to give her one final kiss. Although I'm not a religious person it comforts me to tell myself that we'll be together again someday.

I'm really, really gonna miss it, for many reasons, but there was always a risk of change happening beyond my control - losing the entire area, that i've served for ages.... really, it's hard to take.

It's sometimes said that when one door closes another door opens and I'm sure all sorts of positive and exciting things lay ahead for you


Feeing incredibly sad but relieved that the day of the funeral went as well as such a day can. The spring sunshine was glorious. It was lovely seeing some of the significant people in my mum's life and hearing their stories and recollections at the Wake afterwards but also desperately sad that my mum wasn't there to enjoy it.

People really should make more of an effort to visit those that they supposedly care about while they are living because tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.

Now I need to figure out how the hell I'm going to continue forward with my life without my beloved mum in it

Anxious, I’m meeting a relative and her son next week, have never met her. She knew me when I was a baby though. I’m worried I would be a disappointment.
