How frequently you get flu?
And does it make you sick/nauseous, or you have good immune system?

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I don't know if I ever have. I suspect I may have, but it's never been diagnosed as such, so who knows?

Re: How frequently you get flu?
Interesting. Personally, my immune system is not strong. I physically can't function nor leave my bed when getting it.

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I had it when I was 18 or so. I pay to have the flu vaccine each year.

Re: How frequently you get flu?
Had it this last Christmas after a family gathering, but I can't remember the last time before that. I keep myself fairly isolated so my exposure to other-people-germs is minimal, but it means when I do get it it's MEGA FLU (not really, I just act like it is because I'm a great big baby)

Re: How frequently you get flu?
At school, I used to think I got it pretty much once a year. Fast forward to my late twenties and I contracted it for real. I don't think I'd ever felt so ill in my life!! Thankfully I've only had it once more since. I'm now in my early 60s so only getting it twice isn't too shabby.
I never used to bother with the vaccination, but since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2019 I now take advantage of the free jab offered. |

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I'm thinking of getting the flu jab this year. Last year's bout was not fun, though in a first I actually lost weight over the Christmas period, due to having zero appetite for a fortnight. Think I'd rather have been scoffing biccies though.

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I've only had proper flu once, when I was about 19.
Before Covid I probably had lurgy once or twice a year, in the 3 years since Covid was unleashed I've only had a cold once and Covid once. |

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I never know for sure if I have flu or not. Where's the line between it and a bad cold? Other people always seem so sure. Do you get a letter from your council confirming it?

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I don't get the flu, the flu gets me.
I've never had proper flu, I get about one bad cold a year. I find I catch fewer colds since starting to wash my hands more diligently post-covid. |

Re: How frequently you get flu?
They only tend to test for flu in the hospital to stop it spreading.
It wipes you out. With a bad cold you can sort of carry on as normal. The flu makes you bed ridden really. Too weak to get up. Really hot. Sweaty. Disorientated. Good for nothing. Bad colds make you want to stay in bed. The flu gives you no choice but to stay in bed. I remember feeling really spaced out and vomming as a result. |

Re: How frequently you get flu?
I’m not sure I’ve had flu much, maybe a handful of times in my lifetime. I probably get a cold about 2 or 3 times a year, if that. So my immune system seems to be pretty good. One of my very few positives! Perhaps I’ll put that on my online dating profile, to really get people interested.

Re: How frequently you get flu?
Currently recovering from my first cold since 2018, I've had the flu twice in my life if you have the flu there's no doubting it there's no possibility of having flu and doing anything other than being in bed unable to do anything apart from shiver and sleep.
