What's your star sign?

I don't really know anything about star signs but keep seeing people posting about them on Instagram!

Pisces, which in my case is pronounced 'pissy'.

This poll should end up with the same percentage for each category if enough people do it because of stats n stuff. Unless Leos typically forget their star signs or Capricorns just can't be arsed.

^^ because only 13 people use SAUk.

one of my favourite stats is that in a group of 20 odd people it's likely that two people share the same birthday, which always seems to be true in my experiences of being in groups of 20 odd people.

Aquarius.

I always have to look it up because I forget if it's that or one of two others, plus I enjoy telling people one that I know I'm not if I'm asked because I enjoy the look of disappointment on their faces after they've said "Oh I knew it, you're such a *random star sign*!"

More babies are born in September than any other month so there'll be more from the star sign(s) that cover then.

Biscuits a June/July baby. That’s always made me wonder if it was better to be oldest or youngest in your year at school.

Mine's early Feb.

I knew some kids in school born in late August while some were born in early September of the previous year, which must be a huge difference in terms of development at those ages. I can't think which has advantages, although I'm sure there have been studies. It might seem an advantage to be the oldest at first, but then if you're spending most of your time with people younger than you maybe it isn't.

^^^ yep, I'm a July baby, baby!

Some people try to have their babies closer to September because they want them to be the oldest in the year. There's almost a year's difference between the youngest and the oldest in a year group. It's wild to think that when I started school in September I'd only just turned four. Two months prior to starting school I was three years old.

Nope, there are only two possible star signs per month. Leo is July/August.

They're always so deliberately broad and vague that they could describe anyone.

I feel like whoever made these has had personal issues with certain people and have just attached it to their birthday and star sign

^^ People who are well into star signs always say never date a Cancer, so I was surprised this wasn't like "avoid at all costs"!

Yours is strange. (Cute but will definitely cut someone -- wtf?) Do you agree that you find it difficult to resist the urge to take scissors to people?

I had objection to September the most babies so I looked up stats, the best I could find was 2021 stats.

Births
624,828
Jan 47,742
Feb 46,258
Mar 52,481
April 50,278
May 51,329
Jun 52,204
July 55,385
Aug 54,287
Sept 55,296
Oct 55,705
Nov 52,498
Dec 51,365

There isn't much in it really.
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulat...nglandandwales

(Although it varies each year. The only one trend I can see is February being the month for the least births of the year. And July/Sept/Oct being peak for births)

I wonder what units personalities are divisible by in order to work out the % of different aspects.

A 20% difference between some months is huge!

The ONS has got some interesting stats about it, although it only goes up to 2014:

That's odd I'm using a ONS table and it's not showing September as the most frequent month. It is one of the most popular months though.
But that aside it does show an interesting trend and I googled further to see why that is:

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/scien...all-180971112/

Interesting bit from the article: (where it basically says when the days get short is the most likely time that couples will adam and eve it, so that a newborn is born in the longer days)
Quote:
In the US more northern regions see a birth peak in June or July while more southern areas have more births in October or November. The pattern holds even as the overall birth rate varies in different states.
I wonder if there's patterns in the UK too, Scotland having a different peak to London, and South.

You also have to remember that someone plans to have a baby in September, but babies can very often be late, so it's important to look at September and October when looking into people trying to have babies at that time of year. August should be taken into account as well because babies can be early too.

So it definitely looks like some people are aiming to have an Autumn born baby.

Also look at the figure for July. July is an excellent month to have a birthday. It's never mizzy in July.

According to star signs etc I fall under Libra,
Strange thing is that my twin has always had a completely different personality to mine, so I tend to take these things with a large pinch of salt.

^ yes, they're completely bogus descriptions (in my opinion). I know lots of people born in July and we're all different.

I didn't realise you were a twin! Are you identical? Do they also have social anxiety?
