Worried that I'll never feel emotions again, especially joy or pleasure.

^ thank you, 3stacks. My fellow lover of staffies. You know how cuddly and close they get. It still doesn't feel real. I'll think, "where is she?" when I get home and think to do things like get the cat food out of the way or go for her lead and it's not there. It was all so sudden.

We used to always sing together - just roo, roo, roo sort of things. And when I was driving to work The Foo Fighters came on the radio with Everlong and the lyrics sort of felt fitting. "And I wonder, when I sing along with you..." it felt very fitting and sad.

I hope you are able to feel joy and excitement at some point 3stacks. You're a dude and a half, so deserve to feel those things. Bloody depression and anxiety robbing these desirable feelings *spits*.

Biscuits, I have just seen this. I’m so sorry to read about your loss. When I have lost a dog, for me the pain has felt the same as losing a human. How are you doing?

I hope she is enjoying a Bonio in the sky!

Feeling very disheartened by everything today. Especially with work and college. I'm not sure why because they're both going really well, much better than I expected, but I can't help but question what's the point of it all. I just want to quit everything and be by myself for a while. But can't.

@ Dean Winchester - Sorry to here you've been unwell Dean

@ anxiouslondoner -

@ Biscuits - I hope you are baring up and that the happy memories you have of your sweet girl are bringing you a little comfort x

Yet again I'm feeling so hurt and disappointed by people. I thought that because I've withdrawn from the world for the last couple of years I could no longer be hurt but it seems not. How do I move on from past hurts and regret, and how do I make a lifetime of feeling worthless go away?

Consolida, Dean and Jam Hope each one of you finds a little something to brighten your day and keep going.

Consolida Maybe the answer is not to hide away but to get out there and believe the people who tell you that you are a wonderful person

^ thank you, laurel.

Thank you, Consolida. Been very busy with work etc. so that helps. I can’t actually look at any photos on my phone in case one of her pops up or anything like that yet. I know my sister posted a tribute on Facebook, but I can’t even look at it.

Thank you. Honestly, it just so strange and the house feels empty and lots of my routines have now gone because they revolved around her. We’re getting her cremated, so we will have her ashes.

Very, very true. Hope you’re feeling better - but I see you have the flu. Hope it buzzes orf soon.

I don't have anyone 'out there' to tell me I'm a wonderful person, I'm an invisible non entity who spends my life hiding in the shadows, lol, but thank you so much for always saying such kind things to me on here Clumsy

I had the best time ever yesterday evening but, as always, today I'm back in the doldrums and feeling very let down and disappointed in people. When it comes to humans I really do need to lower my expectations even further

^ I'm sure your husband and son think you're a wonderful person and I hope they tell you so Consolida.

Good to hear you had a good time yesterday evening Maybe it is easier to just not have any expectations of people, I'm not sure.

Yes, they are both lovely people and I'm so lucky to have them in my life, but when it comes to friendships I'm a total failure. I honestly don't know of any other person of my age who doesn't have a single friend. Most women, it seems, have dozens. All I can deduce from this is that I'm a horrid person

^^ and me.

You have many friends here, Consolida; I'm guessing that most of those people with real life "friends" don't show half the compassion, support and understanding for others that you do here, constantly and for everyone.

You're a wonderful human being.

Thank you, 3stacks they have the best energy. it's so quiet and still now.

@Consolida - social anxiety does what it says on the tin and it can be a huge barrier when it comes to forming friendships. It's definitely not that it's a case that you're horrible because...well, that's like thinking chocolate buttons are horrible - an impossible thought! It's just that social anxiety makes it really challenging to make and maintain friendships because of the socialising element.
