For those of you who have seen Agents of Shield - do you need to see the film in order to watch the series?

I have tried watching the film and got fed up with it really quickly so gave up. But I love Joss Whedon and his tv shows (big fan of Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse) so feel I should give the tv show a shot. Most of the things I found annoying about the film probably won't be a factor in the series (ie. I'm sick of comic book films now, can't stand Iron Man, can't stand Scarlett Johansson...)

Any idea when American Horror Story starts on FX in the UK?

Really liking the look of the theme of the new season, they seem to be really good about picking their settings!

I couldn't get through the pilot, it has nothing going for it that i can see. It should really be on CITV, that's the level it's at. I can't help but feel when watching it that in the next episode the main character will be introduced as a boy named Zack Force who constantly breaks down the fourth wall and says things like "That's what she thinks!". At this moment, i think it is the worst tv show i've ever seen, and that is without Zack Force.

Ok, have to say I don't have high hopes for this show after that review
I couldn't sit through the film as it was filled with too many clichés and seemed silly. Guess the show may be the same!

^I wasn't a fan of the film either - the show is like a low-cost, PG version of it, only with really bad actors.

I have to agree after watching the second episode of S.H.I.E.L.D it is a bit too childish for me and not all that gripping. Good thing there's plenty of other shows to watch again instead.

Just watched the first two episodes of Peaky Blinders and pretty shocked that such a well written, stylish and layered drama has popped up on the BBC. Why can't they do this more often instead of wasting money on vapid fun-for-all-family drivel?

I hate Doctor Who, a lot, but my dislike for that is nothing compared with the likes of Robin Hood, Merlin, Atlantis... They are all the ****ing same and all have male leads who have the charisma of a stamp collectors left bollock.

Tbh, the stigma of benefits puts me off not earning my own money.

^ Not everyone on benefits is like that but then it doesn't feel right getting free money and stuff when one is able bodied.

I know the Government and Press have already done a pretty good job of this, but if ever a programme was going to make the general population think that anyone claiming benefits is a scrounging piece of scum, then that one is. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. It beggars belief that they would go on TV and openly boast about scrounging, shoplifting, churning out endless children at the expense of the taxpayer and having no moral decency whatsoever. I can certainly see why that fancy new house they were supposed to be getting was hastily refused them at the last minute. Don't they realise that they are going to suffer all manner of abuse when people recognize them after these programmes? Ugh, utterly dreadful, harmful and shameful stuff. The programme is almost like a piece of Government propaganda. Cameron and IDS must be loving it.

Its good the fancy house was refused from them, I think I remember hearing of the family moving into that house. But tbh, I think one has to work towards getting a fancy house. I also didn't like that woman who was trying to persuade her child that benefits are better than doing low paid work.

^I don't see why one would expose their selves on such a show.
