How many nephews and nieces do you have?

I have one nephew, he's nearly five years old, and he's great!
Unfortunately he lives with my sister in Spain, so I don't get to see him that often.

I have a nephew and a niece, both in their 30s (I think). I have never met either of them.

I have 1 niece proper. But have loads, ethnically speaking. Where my mum comes from, if your cousins have children, they're your niece and nephew. If a close family friend have children, they're your niece and nephew. If the person who sold cigarettes and fresh goat meat to you since you were 11 years old have children, they're your niece and nephew. If the barber gave your uncle a fresh trim that one time in the summer of '69 have children, they're your niece and nephew. If that buffalo that you sometimes see on your way to school have children, they're your niece and nephew.

My families native culture is similar. They call our cousins brother and sister as well. As for nephews and nieces relating to siblings I have none so far.

Don't really see much of any of them. Two live abroad (my sister's kids)
I'm especially fond of my two in-law nieces (if that's a thing??) The ones on my side of the family have all been brought up to be quite rude, obnoxious, loud and bullying.
The ones one my husband's side are just really genuine and sweet.

^ Oh, I got that wrong, my nephew, my sister's son is really sweet, but his sister has been brought up to be obnoxious.
I don't see them often though, so that's just a kind of memory of them rather than knowing them well.

My niece is 23, engaged and buying a house and my nephew is now approaching 30 with a son who is 5!

When did I get so old? Lol

I have 8, though one of them I've never met.

I'm clueless enough about how to be an adult, but being an uncle has always been scary. I don't know how to be an elder to kids, I just can't even attempt that way you're supposed to talk to them on their level, and when they grow up they so instantly out-grownup me it's embarrassing (for me, probably for them too) to even be around them.

I have zero siblings so zero nephews and nieces on my side and no nephews and nieces on my husbands side, which is a bit of a pity as I would have loved to have been someone's favourite Aunt. However, I have countless half siblings (that I'll never meet) who have countless kids (that I'll never meet) so in a different life I would have been a half Auntie to many which would have cost a fortune in gifts so perhaps it's for the best that I have none
