When I get on the phone I'm usually fine. It's the anticipation that gets me, I get that feeling of dread. I have to phone to sort out my debit card, but I can't bring myself to do it

For some reason if it's work related it's so much easier. I know what I'm doing there I suppose

Ah using a tablet instead would make me freak out for some reason Do you think you'll challenge yourself to try hands free again?

Oddity- Yeah the anticipation is agony! I think I build it up way too much and that's where I'm going wrong. I hope you manage to sort the card out soon

Well done to Merritt and to D1662 for braving town and getting these dreaded chores done

And to Dimples for speaking on the phone - I really hate doing it, I know how you feel and how much effort that must have taken

Eek well done Dimples I dont care if you spoke on the phone just to say "hi " and then slammed the phone down on someone, that would have been good enough as like you say small progress & then you can slowly build on that

^ Sounds promising. Is it for something you really want? Congrats

I volunteered to get some bits (for tonights dinner) from the local supermarket, a place i visit once in a blue moon. I walked too. I think this perfect summer weather (not too hot) is charming me, who knows what i may do next, perhaps the world really is my oyster!

Thanks, Autumn

Aye, the weather is glorious and does help a little. The shop thing is something that is within my comfort zone, but just one of those things i very rarely do (at that specific place (even though it's a short walk away)), so the achievement is 'doing something kinda new' - the self-service makes things easier too!

On all but the worst days I can receive a call from a few certain people, if notified in advance, that is enough for now.

More handy would be able to answer from random numbers. One day
You're doing great You'll get there soon!

Ventured into Yeovil this afternoon, wandered through the town and popped in to Tesco and did some shopping, bought some rather nice cider.

I've finally cut my hair

That's one thing to cross off the list! Why i can't make a regular thing of this i don't know, i look much better shorter.

It has such a great, hobbity name.
Yeovil isn't that bad, there are a couple of areas to avoid, but for me the worst town round here has to be Bruton, What a depressing place.

I answered an unknown number call on the landline, as I knew the Openreach guy was coming round and he might not visit unless someone was in I did stare at it for a few rings, but I did it Once I've pressed the button and said hello, that's the hard bit out the way.

I did cheat with Propranolol, but maybe this is the key I shall try it when I go to make a call to sort my debit card

Wow, I just asked some people to be quiet in the library because I'm trying to transcribe some interviews! I've been trying to do that sort of thing since like, 2001! They said sorry and lowered their voices. Pity I can still here them. But at least I said it :-)

I've just relaced my old walking boots.

About time too. I've had threadbare laces for, probably, since the start of the year. Their colour is a little darker than i would have liked and they cost a fair whack, but pissing about over laces (for walking boots) is something best avoided for someone who's indecisive enough at the best of times.

I've also replaced my old debit card that had cracked around the chip, the new one arrived earlier. It's contactless. I can't wait to make a twat of myself on my first attempt trying to use it!

Edit: I also text the mechanic fella about the MOT shiz and he's gonna try to fit me in next weekend. This i consider a bitter sweet achievement, cos i've a feeling the old pile of shite will cost me this time

List of achievements, not just today, but in the last few weeks :

1) Got in contact with an old work colleague that I had decided never wanted to see me again to catch up. She was delighted to hear from me and we hung out.
2) Responded to a call for a new housemate from a different old work colleague. Accepted offer of room.
3) Went to party held by new future housemates. Stayed for two hours although I was in complete panic mode the whole time and was convinced I was going to vomit or pass out in front of them all. Still...stayed for two hours!
4) Have started inviting people to things more often and have agreed to go out tonight
5) Had a thought about a potential direction to take career wise that is a little less pressure and asked someone I barely know who is already in that career (worse....a man I drunkenly flirted with for a night a couple of years ago and have not spoken to since...) for advice on getting in. He didn't reply for a while and I thought he thought I was an idiot at first, but today he replied with a really nice message and a very long and helpful one and told me to get back in touch with him if I had any questions.
6) Told an old friend about panic attacks
7) Told people I work with about panic attacks (everybody very nice about it and no one patronised me)

Went to drumming group last night and filming took place to advertise group on channel in my local area. Shit myself but focussed on the drumming and got through it. Oh and enjoyed it.

Yesterday...returned from Spain on my own. Felt really panicky beforehand and cried all the way to the airport when my parents dropped me off. Felt a bit awkward being in an airport and on the plane on my own.

Today, I looked after my 4 month old niece for the first time for 6 hours...fed her, dressed her, changed her - very tiring, but so worth it, she's such a gorgeous, smiley, loving baby.

Well done, CC, that's really brave! I've only ever been on a plane with family before and when I was last on a plane, I couldn't imagine going on one on my own, hope you had a good time out there
