Beer- love it or hate it?

Yuck. Last time I had any was Christmas 84/5. I was staying in a house of multiple occupation and was persuaded to go out for a drink with the landlord and another tenant. They bought me a pint. I could feel myself becoming more and more nauseous as the pint went down and increasingly tipsy.
I got home and staggered into our room. It felt as though the room was spinning . I collapsed on the bed and puked up then fell asleep.

Give me a bacardi/cinzano/vodka any day over a beer.

I wouldn't say I hate beer but I prefer not to drink it. I can't even remember the last time I had any actually. I don't think it's particularly horrible (apart from some real ales eugh) it's just not all that great. Some of my friends are beer drinkers and I have no idea where they put it all, there's so much volume it makes me feel like I'm going to explode after a couple of pints. I do actually like Guinness though, can't have any more than 1 or 2 though, but yeah maybe I'm lying about not remembering the last time I had any then if Guinness counts!

But yeah, rum and coke please..

I don't drink but if my memory is correct from around 20 years ago it tastes rubbish.

Orange and apple juice mixed together in just the right quantities is a much better drink

I used to like it but nowadays fizzy booze makes me feel ten times worse the next day, so I can't drink more than a couple of pints.

There are good beers and bad beers. The Belgian beers are generally the best in my opinion, even if they are too strong to have more than a few or risk falling asleep on the train home..

I'd have said orange juice and lemonade a few years ago but with my already existing stomach issues if I drink carbonated drinks I'll end up belching for ages afterwards.

Beer is my drink of choice when I'm not out to get drunk, if I am then it's JD and coke all the way.
