^^ I've got to back him up on this one. KFC and gravy is a glorious combination. I'm surprised you're not a fan considering you're a northerner. You guys pour gravy on anything.

Dragon fruit. My daughter made me buy one. It cost £5 just for one. I explained to my daughter that our energy bill was increasing to over £100 a month, and she's asking me to spend £5 on one fruit. I requested if should could force me to buy her an orange instead. Anyway, I tried it and it was really nice, refreshing and amazing in colour. I imagine it would be so satisfying on a hot summers day.

How dare you. It's not 'on'. I dip into the gravy. Obviously with my little finger raised too.

Shocking. I've been making about a soup a week for the last six months. I kind of agree about it not being a meal though. That's why I tend to have it with cheese on toast.

I have not tried these soups. I'm not sure how I feel about an unadulterated cauliflower soup. Are you sure it's nice or is this a delayed April Fool's?

'Preciated, brah. Also, good point. I don't really think Lee can claim to be a northerner and not like gravy. Unless he also owns a minimum of three shell suits or can translate John Bishop.

I second this,.
I love making home-made soup,
it's not overly complicated or anything, and you can suit your own tastes with what you put in,
I think it gets you used to, and into cooking a lot more, gives you some confidence in your own cooking abilities,

I usually do it on a weekend and freeze batches of it for through the week or whenever,

courgette soup sounds interesting, i might be trying that one

Ha, I know. They had a yellow version for 1.99, and I tried my best to push that on her, but she wanted the pretty pink one.

Recently I happened upon this smashing app that identifies plants. It's called PlantNet.

I'm always out and about and see something interesting growing out of a crack or whatever and wondering what it is. You take a photo and then it identifies the plant.

Recent find: sea cabbage on the beach haha

Also I've been using an app that finds cheaper train tickets by splitting the journey e.g. you stay on the same train, but pay to go to X station and then pay for a ticket from X station to your desired destination. The tickets are all e-tickets and it gets a little confusing haha but if you put them in your apple wallet on your phone it's easier because they disappear after they've been scanned. You don't have to change trains usually, but sometimes that is the case.

Would anyone recommend thermal curtains? Any noticeable difference? I've got £100 'credit' from work to put toward anything that will cut energy use.

Have I recommended this honeyed carrot soup here yet?

I made half of this recipe the other day with a 25p bag of carrots, one brown onion (I couldn't be arsed with leek) and honey we had in the cupboard. It made about 8 200ml portions - less than a regular can of soup but enough with some toast.

Along with a posh stock pot, butter and a tiny pinch of chilli flakes, it came to about 9p per bowl by my reckoning. (I don't bother with the yoghurt/sour cream because effort/isn't needed.)

It's also damn nice and less than 80 calories a bowl, so I'm pushing it on everyone.

I hibernated quite a bit last night, but the alarm put a stop to all that cosy fuzzy, dreamy fun after about 8 hours,

I'm going to try again tonight, as it's quite more-ish

Just as long as I don't wake up with little babies crawling around me and a little bag of 6 month old poo,..like bears do, I'm sure it'll be more than tolerable.

A whole dried chilli??? Do you want to be able to whistle with your mouth shut tight (because you've burnt holes in your cheeks (I'm not sure this is clear))? I put the tiniest punch of chilli flakes in and sometimes that's a little to fiery.

Shame the hairs went away though tbh.

Today, I was on Greggs. And there was a sign saying if you download the app you get a free hot drink and a pastry. I downloaded the app and got a free hot drink and a pastry!

Go for it.
