You seem to be creating an anxiety library, Percy!
![]() Going slightlly off your topic, but if you're very stressed, this is a link to a very good body scan meditation (which I have posted before so apologies if you've already seen it). https://archive.org/details/MCullenBodyScanMeditation |

Authors of self help books are a bit waffly and syrupy, but in the past I have used some self-help websites because they get to the point quicker
![]() NHS Scotland has good resources, which have been updated since I last accessed them. Previously it was called Mood Juice and they were more like leaflets. This is a self-cbt exercise booklet for social anxiety, which has links at the bottom. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can download and save it as a pdf. https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses...elf-help-guide They cover a wider range e.g. self-esteem, OCD, depression, addiction: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses...lf-help-guides This is another which has links on the last page for other areas: https://web.ntw.nhs.uk/selfhelp/leaf...%20Anxiety.pdf This is a little library where you click on the self-help guide you'd like to read: https://www.dpt.nhs.uk/self-help-guides/ |

How to Help Yourself With Self-Help: A Short Guide on How to Use Self-Help Books to Achieve Your Goals
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I read this last night. An excellent book for those who've not found self help helpful in the past. Explores the reasons why self help might fail for you and offers solutions to over come those problems. I read it in an hour, it's a short book but one that can help fill in the missing gaps for those who haven't found self help to be very helpful |

I had a few books in the past.
These days, I mostly watch self-help videos on YouTube or listen to podcasts. At the moment, I find Dr Tracy Marks helpful I also like the School of Life, tho they can be harsh on traumatic parents and I don't think that's always beneficial. |

Another book by Martin Meadows, this one on confidence. Actually it's about raising your self efficacy which in turn leads to greater confidence. If you're interested in improving your self efficacy i can also recommend https://www.amazon.co.uk/Self-Effica...%2C665&sr=8-10 Goes into much more detail and is very academic but a good insight anyway |

Another one by Martin Meadows
https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Think-B...s%2C178&sr=8-5 This one looks at why some aim high and others are content to aim low. An interesting look at the psychology of high achievers, if you want to be a high achiever that is. |

Another couple of recommendations.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mindset-Upd...s%2C298&sr=8-1 Carol Dweck's Mindset is an excellent book on developing a growth mindset, rather than a fixed mindset. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Grit-passio...85040200&psc=1 Angela Duckworth's Grit is also an excellent book for developing resilience and passion |
