I can't remember the last time i saw a GP. I haven't even got an assigned doctor any more. I haven't got a dentist ... partly my fault, granted. I haven't got a girlfriend either. Honestly, the services in this country have gone to shit.

Ahh, but i have! Lol, it stopped working for about 3 weeks then, when my brother came around to have a look, it miraculously worked as usual. ****ing bizarre. Made me look a right berk. It's weird because i was testing to see whether it would work or not for the best part of the period it wasn't working.

I'm on unit 156/212. Which means I have at least a year to go, assuming one unit a week which is optimistic. I only use the website because the way the app punishes you for getting things wrong really annoys me. But that means I only really get reading/listening tests. I don't really test myself outside of that so no idea how good I'd be at reading in the real world, my writing is very poor and I suspect my speaking and listening would be bad. I tried another app which had normal Spanish people speaking in it and it was so fast and unlike the slow speech in Duolingo that it was unintelligible.

Just looking at this AA cover deal and things to include on top of the £15 (for a year) basic roadside assistance. The national recovery option is only £15 extra and says, if it can't fix your car where it's broke down, then it'll take you and the car to a destination of your chosen. So, if i drove all the way to Scotland and then broke down they'd be obliged to take me all the way back if i wanted... ? It sounds very costly to them to do something like that

I really fancy a road trip this Summer, which is why i'm considering it.

I use the AA (and RAC in the past) and have been towed to my destination, lol. Not as far as Scotland! but about 20 miles to what was then my local garage. I didn't seem to have any problems. That was roadside assistance mind you not National Recovery.

As far as i'm aware National Recovery does mean they will take you to a single destination of your choice in the UK. I suppose most people just get towed to a nearby garage to wherever there staying. Though if you were say driving home from Scotland to the South Coast then yeah I guess they would have to...

Hmm, well i've gone for it on face value. It's only an extra £15 on an already fantastic offer. I'll almost certainly won't use it. In the most likeliest event of breaking down somewhere near where i live, at least national recovery will give me the option of taking it where i fancied rather than the nearest garage (which i'm pretty sure is what the basic breakdown cover does, maybe depending how busy they are).

I got a car recovered by rac to Southampton from Cambridge once...I'd only just bought it off ebay as a project in cambridge, pushed it down the road a bit then called for recovery. Only thing they checked was did it have a valid tax disc. The fact the engine didn't work didn't seem to matter to them.

I choose my breakdown cover now based on which company answers the phone quickest this year's winner was rescue my car.com

Looking at my freshly ironed curtains. Yes, i finally bothered to iron them after their washing from the other week. Well, they look marginally better now. Was it worth it? No. If i had the money and was frivolous enough would i buy a new pair? Probably, yes. Will i forget this experience and do the same thing this time next year? Yes, absolutely!
