Just completed a 1 day a week for 10 weeks online zoom training course with a bunch of strangers. Well minus the assignment I've yet to do.

That in itself is a miracle but I was particularly dreading today - where I knew we had to do a big role play excercise in break out rooms - essentially role playing being either a peer support worker or being the person supported, with the third person being the observer. I was hoping to be the observer, or at worst the supprted person, I however in true style got the peer support worker role
Wasn't perfect but I'm quite pleased that a) I turned up today - I was toying with pulling a sickie! and b) pushing myself through the excercise.

It felt good to complete the full 10 weeks.

Without going into detail (could write a few thousand words about it)...we have been stuck in a "nightmare neighbour next door" situation for 17 years.
A fairly recent issue is that one neighbour has an Alsatian dog that has gone for us several times, that he lets out loose on shared land that we have to walk across to access the house.
We had to have people come from the council today to discuss the dog and they said to try and get evidence of the neighbour's behaviour.

So my achievement today was to hold up a phone and quietly film the neighbour being aggressive and threatening and then just walking away. For someone who can't cope with conflict at all, who gets very shaky and tearful, I think I was very calm and level headed and am quite proud of myself for managing that.

Thanks Percy, I've got no intention of doing it again! We're going to buy a cctv camera tomorrow.
I'm sorry if it's something you have had to do, bad neighbours can make other people's lives a misery.

So I did that thing I've been building up to. It was fairly terrifying in the moment but I eventually relaxed into it (sort of). There were only about 10 people in the audience but I'm pretty sure that made it worse - I could see them all way too clearly. Here's the bit that probably went the best (although the closing line needs work):

I was genuinely surprised how I sounded when I first listened back to it all. You can't really hear the huge 'oooh shit' I was feeling. I think because of that I feel like I could do it again without half the amount of worry, so I guess that's something.

I ya mush, SA.

Counting this as a win as I know a lot of stand up isn't usually your bag.

Thank you!!

I'm doing a course which involves performing your stuff online each month, which really helps I think. Also, the tutor is quite harsh and picky about what material she'll approve (she's got a club and stuff and sees a lot of acts, so does know her stuff). It meant I could have a bit more confidence that it would all at least be joke-shaped than if I went in cold - which I'm pretty sure would be much, much scarier.

Also, I'm hardened to her blank look of disapproval/disgust. No audience member could do worse than that.

Crazy day for me today. Got the bus to Liverpool and went go karting with my brother in law! He's a great guy but I've never spent any time with him without my sister present, so conversation was a bit tough. Karting was fun, done it years ago but at a different track. I was so damn nervous lol but it went alright, best lap was 45 seconds, his was 42, not bad considering it was my first time there. Done a couple clumsey embarrassing things due to nerves like, but trying not to dwell on them.
Afterwards my brother in law had things to do so made my way back into town, not really knowing what I was gonna do. It was only mid afternoon and (not my usual self) couldn't face going back home, going through a bad time still and I just need to keep myself busy and mind occupied, if I stay home thinking I'll get depressed.
So went to burger king (vegan royale is the best!), few shops, went for a tea in egg cafe (veggie place off Bold Street, been going there with my family like half my life). Then wandered around Albert Dock and mustered up the courage to go for a pint in a bar there.
Literally done more things today to push myself out my comfort zone than I have in like the last 5 years combined.
I have been on a medication for like 2 months now, so maybe they are helping too. None of it was easy for me like.

Went for a test ride on a motorbike today. Lots of interacting etc struggled to sleep last night thinking about it but I managed it. Only taken me 20 years to arrange this. Next test ride will probably be a hover bike or a mobility scooter.
