Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
There are times I cry a lot and I don't know why, but I noticed everytime this happens, it happens when I'm feeling relaxed or comfortable/at peace for once.
That being said, I generally have depression that I don't wish on anyone. |

Don't be silly. You are confusing self-improvement with the solution to all your problems. You ought to recognise the difference. I can see that you are wallowing and defeatist, but not everyone is. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
It's possible to progress in education at any age. When i did my degree course there was a number of people in their 30s doing the same course as me, and also some in their 40s and 50s. It might lead to a different kind of employment for some people or just wider knowledge and skills for others but it's always worth doing.
No one thing you do is ever going to change your life overnight, cure your mental health condition instantly or make you suddenly happy though obviously, as Scurrilous Rumour says. Those things are much longer processes. |

^^ That sounds interesting Percy, but if it's anything like Schindler's List it will make difficult viewing.
I'm thinking about the weekend ahead. My son's girlfriend is coming to stay here so I'm worrying a lot about that. I'm not used to having people in the house and wonder how I'm going to come across as normal and not the bat **** crazy woman that I usually am. Seriously, the wanting to be liked by someone who is important to my son turns me into a bag of nerves who can't string a sensible sentence together |

The crazy thing about coffee is that it elevates/lifts my mood so quickly/almost instantly, but it doesn't take long until it lets it go down.., yet my mind tends to associate it -coffee- with the "lifting mood" part and totally ignores the "mood rapid sinking down" part.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
How receptive are GPs usually if you ask for a blood test? I want to get checked to see if there's anything physical that can be sorted out, to help explain the fatigue and brain fog I've had the last couple of years. I always worry about seeing a doctor though, that they'll go 'You want WHAT?!' and kick my head in if I ask for anything.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
I found it very easy to get 'bloods' for whatever, with no questioning why. That was through econsult too. I would guess that a face-to-face appointment would lead the gp to question you a little.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
a guy I been following Twitter reckons a lack of Thiamine causes brain fog and fatigue. But have the assertiveness go doctors, it's just a 10 min session with a GP talking about concerns. Then a nurse will take your blood.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
Ta for the replies I haven't been to the GP for anything other than medication reviews (which I have to go in for, or no repeats) since before Covid, so it feels weird actually choosing to go and being assertive enough to ask for what I want.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^ You could just go and describe the symptoms you've been having and see if they suggest some blood tests, which they should do really! And then ask for some if they don't happen to.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
When contemplating death it's nice to contemplate birth as well as they are both related. Thinking how one day you ended up inside a woman's womb. It helps giving you a bigger picture.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
Counting in my head some few decent people who had a great life who have died, and back to think about myself and how a waste of space like me is alive and they are dead is kind of funny, yet somehow it gives me hope and comfort realizing how a great equalizer death is.
