Today I feel ever so unwell. My face is so full of cold. My throat is swollen. I'm gonna have to go to bed.

I’m very sad to hear about Terry Hall who passed away last night. The Specials were one of the first bands I got interested in as a young teenager (even though I was born in the 1990s) and I later liked a lot of stuff from his other bands.

Pretty anxious about this week to be honest.

I finish work on Thursday evening, but the final week before Christmas always involves the exchanging of cards and presents. I absolutely loathe the pressure with a passion. Fortunately the situation isn't as bad as it used to be - as most of the 'socialists' have since left the company but it's still a position I'd rather not be in. I'd rather just shake hands, wish people a Merry Christmas and then go away for a few days to rest...

I'll be happier once Thursday evening comes...

I'm feeling somewhat relieved.
We took my son to A&E this morning and after administering antibiotics intravenously and IV fluids for dehydration tests came back to show that he had severe tonsillitis and Glandular fever. Thanks largely to the extra strong painkillers he is feeling a lot more comfortable tonight. Sitting in A&E less than a year after being there with my late mum stirred up lots of sad emotions and, fingers crossed, it will be a few years before I'm back there again!

^ oh, Consolida, that sounds like a really scary experience for you and your son . Thank goodness they managed to quickly work out what was making him so poorly. No doubt he's glad to be back with you at home to recuperate . Hope you are also able to get a little rest from the shock you've experienced too .

^^^ I'm really sorry you've been having such a difficult time again Consolida. Glandular Fever is such a common illness to go around in the first year of uni, it always seems to strike atleast a few people. I'm sorry your son got so ill. I hope he continues to get better now
