Consolida, you’re not a horrible person, that’s for sure.

I’m the opposite in the sense that I’m lucky to have a few friends, but haven’t come anywhere close to forming a romantic relationship. I can’t think of many people my age who arn’t in a relationship, or who haven’t had one in the past. That makes me very sad sometimes. In that sense, I feel an absolute failure, and I sometimes tell myself I must be ugly or have a wierd personality. But we really mustn't be so hard on ourselves!

^ You're not ugly; as for the personality, you probably need someone less weird than I to judge.

I always feel at 28 its too late to fix my life and get some sort of education plus I don't think anyone will ever date me. Who would want to date someone who hasn't been in a relationship and is a loser in life. It's quite depressing

^^ No, 28 is young! You can do anything you want to and many people from here have had their first relationships at older ages than that.

Landlord wanted to replace the carpets in the two bedrooms in this flat.
So I had to move almost everything into the lounge, not furniture but all the contents.
The lounge is now up to the ceiling with boxes and crates, utterly no space left.
The two guys came to replace the carpets this morning.
I've moved enough computer stuff back into my "office" to do some work with.
I'm glad it's over, but now I have to move everything back... also in the process my bed, which was broken and on its last legs anyway, became unusable and has been thrown out. So now I'm sleeping on a mattress or the sofabed until I can get a new one delivered.
I'm stressed and tired...

^ It must be nice having new carpets down but yes, it can be mega stressful having strangers coming into your home. We keep delaying having things done because we can't face having workmen in. Maybe next year...

Thanks
The thing is, I don't even have any non real life friends anymore but, to be fair, I'm truly awful at maintaining friendships especially when a bout of depression takes hold and I retreat into isolation mode.

I'm not sure I agree with any of that, but thank you so much for your support and kind words, it means a lot

That's sweet of you to say Chess, but I wouldn't make a good friend to anyone these days

It's just that social anxiety makes it really challenging to make and maintain friendships because of the socialising element.

I know you're right but.....ah, when I get into that negative mindset it's hard to believe that there's not something intrinsically horrid about me.

You come across as so lovely on here and, as Chess said to me regarding friends, I think anyone would be lucky to have you as their partner! But of course easier said than done when social anxiety is thrown into the mix

Nooo, 28 isn't too late, definitely not!! You still have many years ahead of you to achieve some of your hopes and dreams, and sooner rather than later, if you can stop some of those self sabotaging thoughts because you are most certainly NOT a loser.

It’s not too late 3stacks, especially as you are still in your 20s. Same for relationships too. And no one needs to know you haven’t been in a relationship before - you can just say ‘it’s been a while’ or something like that.

^ If I remember rightly (apologies if I've got this wrong) you are a vegan so I reckon you should feel far less guilty about being alive than the majority of people in this World who consume animal products and generally give little thought to all the poor creatures they are sharing this planet with. Also, if you don't have any offspring then I think you are doing everything that is humanely possible as an individual in preserving the natural world and environment. As for the bugs that scurry across our paths, sadly it's impossible not to trample some of them underfoot and so I guess all anyone can do is to not purposely hurt or kill them if we value their existence.

I feel guilty for wanting to be selfish. I care too much about everyone, about my family. I always listen to their problems, always trying to help them.
But sometimes I just want to switch it off and go alone somewhere far away where there's no internet, no phones. Is it too much, or there are others who feel the same?

I know I mentioned that I had some health problems recently.
Well I'm pleased to say that I got the all clear today. Which is a huge load off my mind.
I'm off work for two weeks from Saturday. I'm going to relax and let myself forget all about it.

Regretful. I feel like I have the potential to be a nice happy go lucky kind person but my patience keeps being tested. Ended up sending a distasteful text that I tried all day not to send and then snapped at my Mum within minutes of sending it, all because you know people aren’t self aware enough to know when to stop. Also have had a crippling migraine for the last hour which is probably my premature dose of karma kicking in early.

Idk I’m no expert but it can be diet, maybe eating too little for the amount of energy you are using, not having enough electrolytes as in salt, sodium and potassium. Stress, a certain stimuli in your environment. But I’m no expert so I’m just guessing.

^^i saw a thing recently dunno if it was serious where they said the solution to migraines was to stand in a bowl of the hottest water you can put up with.

Can't remember the reasoning behind it.
