Re: On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard do you actually try to change yourself?

Re: social anxiety in the workplace

oneday, I really do sympathise. I'm not a qualified social worker; but am in Aftercare which is really similar in the kind of work I do. When I'm feeling anxiety free (which I do get sometimes), I...

Re: where do i meet guys?

I can understand why people would take offence at what Jludvig (sp?) has said about not guys on here having too many issues. But please, give the girl a break - it's getting pretty nasty on here and...

Re: where do i meet guys?

I have SA but am certainly not shy. To me, shyness is what I used to be when I was a kid - often quiet, withdrawn, awkward, easily embarassed. Maybe that's not the dictionary definition; but that's...

Re: Avoidant Personality Disorder

My psychiatrist reckons I have this (she calls it anxious personality disorder) mixed with Borderline Personality Disorder (or Emotionally Unstable PD). God knows. I just know that I'm f*cked.

Re: Muscle Tension and SA

Tight, aching muscles in my lower neck and shoulders, shallow breathing, feeling of faintness and "thick headedness", sometimes a slight nausea and also general exhaustion. Bloody nightmare. Thing...

Re: Do you fake confidence?

I feel like this a lot too. Those who really know me (friends I've known for years, parents) know and understand the full extent of my issues; but I realise that to some I may appear a little...

Re: Do you fake confidence?

?

God no! You can maybe fool people you're confident by smiling / forcing yourself to chat etc..but on the inside be an anxious mess, full of self loathing, not trusting anything you say or do and...

Re: Do you fake confidence?

I have to fake it, otherwise I'd be perceived as totally weird and inconsistent. My mood and anxiety levels fluctuate daily; meaning I can be confident, sociable and positive one day and completely...

Re: What keeps you going?

Those times when I feel at peace and / or alive. They could happen when totally engaged and in tune with a good friend, when driving and listening to a poignant / emotional song, when I've felt at...

You're right Mr Baron..BUT! It's all part and parcel of the "going for personality v. looks debate". All I'm saying is that you can't force yourself to be attracted to someone. Looks usually are the...

Thanks Grah08 and Maro.

I get extremely obsessive when going through an anxious phase. When relatively ok, it's there, but far more manageable. I've also had a lot of crap personal issues to...

Re: "annoying beyond belief"
