There's now a government initiative, called the Energy Companies Obligations scheme (ECO), in which the big...

Re: Positivity sub-forum: final round

I would have gone...

If you're having CBT...

Re: have you actually been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder

Yep, I got the referral both times. If you give reasonable reasons then you're GP should be duty bound to refer you.

I know a lot of people have problems with their GPs though. :headwall:

Re: have you actually been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder

I was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder in 2001 and then with avoidant personality disorder in 2006. Both times I asked my doctor to refer me to a psychiatrist for a diagnosis.

I've never...

Re: Exercise 'no help for depression', research suggests

Nah, you can have a control group without it being unethical. ;)

Most studies on depression and medication use control groups in which people receive no treatment during the study. This is why the...

Re: Radio Five Live need SA person for radio this friday noon

Re: Exercise 'no help for depression', research suggests

There's a major flaw with this study (http://www.bmj.com/content/344/bmj.e2758.pdf%2Bhtml). Namely that the researchers only compared 'medication' versus 'medication plus exercise'.

Really, they...

Re: Did anyone see 56 Up

The guy's name is Neil Hughes. I remember relating to him a LOT in the 28Up and 35Up programmes, but less so in the more recent editions. There's no way he has social anxiety, but he's clearly been a...
