Becoming a special constable
Hi everyone,
I got an invite from the Met today to go along and attend an assessment day . I'm really happy but really scared too. I've wanted to be in the police for a while now, probably after watching too much PICK TV. Has anyone any thoughts on this, or has anyone else tried out for the specials?

Sounds exciting! I know it's not the same, but I went to a job interview a while back (the only job interview I've ever been to) and even though I didn't get the job I felt super proud of myself for going. It's a really brave thing to do, especially with the police. I wish you good luck but also think you're great for just giving it a go (if you do decide to and if you don't then that's cool too, maybe in the future).

One of my ex's was a Special. In one of the tougher parts of the country as well. She loved it, although I worried myself silly every time she went out.

Mr. Yippeeeeeee wishes to send you a special bouquet for applying and wishes you great success. Were I to ever be arrested......couldn't think of a nicer officer to escort me to the cell.
