Well done Charlotte, that's fab. I really hate doing stuff like that....you did so well to stay for over an hour.

Well done Mog.

Not today but yesterday went back to Specsavers to tell them my new glasses were no good and everything was blurred. They wanted me to try them for a few more weeks but I said I would never get used to them. I asked whether they could change the lenses which they have agreed to do and I collect them next week. I was shaking loads, which was so obvious when I was being asked to take glasses off and put them back on. Glad I did it but hate complaining face to face, surprised myself though.

^^ well done custard cream

I'm glad you stood your ground and got them to swap your lenses, you pay a lot for glasses and they should be right. I've had a few problems with my glasses in the past but disn't have the guts to go back and get them sorted.
I hope there alright when you collect them next week

Thanks Newbie.

Thanks Purplerose, yes, hopefully they will be ok when I collect them on Tuesday. I asked them to put thicker standard lenses in them - the same as I have at the moment. I'd originally paid for extra thin and light lenses, but they just made my peripheral vision really blurred, my prescription is really high though. Specsavers have a 3 month guarantee, no quibble, no fuss if you have any problems. Hope you manage to get your glasses sorted out if you have problems in the future.

Ahh, I go back tomorrow for a contact lense trial and then I have a hair appointment in the afternoon. Why do I keep doing things I dread? I always said I would never try contact lenses haha!

Well done, Jinny.

I've not had my hair cut professionally since 1980 when I had a severe panic attack in a salon. I could go back nowadays, but I've learned to cut my own since 1980 so would rather save the money.

Well done for going. I think barbers and hairdressers are something of an SA nightmare.

I've booked tickets for a comedy gig with a couple of friends! It's Sean Lock in May.

I'm now fine with the thought of going. The thing I'm anxious about is that we could only get tickets where we are all sitting in seperate areas, meaning sitting very closely to strangers for well over an hour..... Yikes!

That's great Jinny well done I've been in a similar position with my new volunteer role. One minute I'm wishing I had never started and the next I'm quite impressed with myself for it. Keep going and I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm sure the drive will get easier too as you get used to the route.

Great stuff Ydrah and jinny

I got a text from my tutor a little while ago and he said I scored high on the 2 papers I did today (not that it's a challenging course particularly ) though it needs to be verified. The other 3 papers have been verified so at least it's done and dusted and I should have passed the whole thing.

I did it mostly to force myself out to somewhere I didn't know with ppl I didn't know etc etc... Also forced me to travel out to Brighton twice a week.
It's been hard attending anxiety wise, esp at the beginning (and esp having to sit with a group of complete strangers and have tea/coffee with them in the 20 min breaks etc.. ) But I'm glad I stuck it out.

I'm not sure it's a great achievement but it's hopefully a start on the road back to some sort of normality.

Yeah same here. It's like everyone else has been given some socialising with strangers secret that seems to have bypassed me and just leaves me slightly perplexed and lost.

I've lost six pounds. I'm at that cool place where my belly is getting smaller and my boobs are basically the same but slightly perkier. Now if I could just lose another 3 stone and my boobs stay the same ill be happy.

Well done Cordy.

I did a weekly shop in Aldi. That place scares me at the best of times. I went around with a big trolley and even though I felt a bit awkward actually doing a big shop, feeling like I was always in the way and people were probably looking at me wondering what I was doing I didn't feel panicky until halfway through the shop. My dad turned up to pick me up just before I went to pay - thank god, I don't think I could manage the tills on my own with a weeks shop (well 2 or 3 weeks worth!).

Went swimming on my own this morning, walked there and back too. I swam 800 metres which is half a mile. Doesn't sound like much so I'll say I swam 32 lengths instead

Listening to music on the radio without feeling self conscious, just enjoying the way it sounds.
