Default Mindfulness meditation

Has anyone done much of this? I have started an 8 week course, went to the second meeting tonight and enjoyed it. Last week was difficult with meeting new people but I got into the meditations tonight and came away feeling really relaxed and anxiety free.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with meditation. I've had some lovely experiences with it, yet I find life gets in the way and I don't maintain the habit very well.

I found mindfulness meditation very helpful. It really helped me to calm down the voices in my head saying all those unhelpful things.

This in turn helped me to concentrate on doing the things I was avoiding.

The unhelpful parts of my mind now do what they can to stop me doing the meditation and I really do struggle to keep doing it as often as I would like.

It is one of the key tools of recovery though so I keep at it.

That's what I found last night, we did a guided 45 minute body scan and it really helped calm the chattering in my mind.
