Could anyone recommend a good book.
I'm thinking of taking up reading because it will help with boredom and help keep me occupied so I stop snacking in the evening.
I'd would be grateful of any recommendations. Thanks x |

Re: Could anyone recommend a good book.
Are you after fiction or non-fiction, or does it not matter?

Re: Could anyone recommend a good book.
The Moomins books by Tove Jansson are brilliant :-) The first one is The Moomins and the Great Flood. Beautiful children's books on the surface, but underneath they are very moving stories about fear, love, family and loss.

"The Universe versus Alex Woods " would be a good choice . It's a well written and interesting offbeat story , not to heavyweight to be restrictive and has a socially awkward protagonist . I think I polished it off in about three days .

Re: Could anyone recommend a good book.
^ some great recommends from misses Victoria
I've been trying to think of some today but haven't gotten very far lol I think what you read is kinda who you are, if that's even intelligible ? So it's hard to know what another person will enjoy. Anywho, I've just finished reading the Anne frank diary, which I suppose is an easy read, poignant and ultimately a bit heartbreaking as you see the end of the book in sight and realise what this meant for the author. But I'd say it's worth a go of you like first hand accounts. I won't recommend the normal stuff I read as it's pretty niche a lot of it and wouldn't do for easy reading on a slow afternoon. |
