Went to a meetup group

I joined a couple of meetup.com groups recently. Not been able to attend one of them because (would you believe it?) I did my back in a few days after joining.
I did go to the other one this evening though. Croydon film makers.
It was held in a local pub. I went there completely sober although I had a couple as the evening progressed (it was a pub after all).
I think I did manage to hold my own conversationally although it was a bit too much film-buff-esque for me.

Thats fantastic!

I went for a sunday lunch with one of the portsmouth meet up groups a couple of months ago and I have also joined the southampton group. I haven't been to any further meet ups since but I hope to in the future just have to pluck up courage again. But well done for going to the meet as it takes a lot of courage and hope you go to more meet ups in future!

Thanks for all you encouragement.

I would recommend meetup groups as a good way to get to the next level. If you can find a group of people with whom you have interests in common, you've already won half the battle.

Nice one mate, glad you managed to 'hold your own' too! I've just joined the site myself and found a few groups which look interesting so hopefully I'll be going down that same road soon.
