I think FB can either cheer you up or put you in a depression. It all depends on what you do with it.

Depends for each individual person though really, you either have a list full of nobs or actual alright people that you know are nice. For me I have a bit of both, my non anon Facebook has nobs from other work places I need to stay in touch with, stuff like that.

Though then again Facebook the way it's actually designed is set up to be some narcissistic tool I 'spose 'cause it wants your precious face pictures of your faces face, not your cat or some art work you did, it clearly says upload pictures of your face / life. >_>

I kinda wanted to delete mine but I can't, I check it daily but I only look at animal pictures now.

Yes, I think Facebook is evil and responsible for a lot of bad things.

Only when you are new to it.

But sharing photos is anxiety provoking for me cause I don't share many pics.

Yes inthe sense it thrusts you right into your family and friends daily lives that you would otherwise ring once in a blue moon.

No in that whatever I write e.g: 'singing perfomance for Hoot on Feb 9th' means I have to go do that performance to back it up. So it's motivating.

There isnt much wrong with showing off sometimes, you can show your artwork/pet pics and get posotive attention from it. Like someone elsr said it depends on your,fb friends and your relation to them.

For me, no. It's been an invaluable tool for keeping in touch with people I would otherwise have completely lost contact with and for organising the activities in my life.

But depending on how you use it and what kind of contacts you have on there, I can definitely see how it could be for some.

Was for me, that's why I stopped using it after about 3 days and haven't logged in since! Probably should stuck it out, but was too paranoid about my picture etc being on there at the time, this was years ago.

No more than real life.

So... yes, but it's not Facebook's fault.

Undoubtedly, but for me it is also a connection to all the people I have met/known in my life who I never get to see (because of distance), and consequently is pretty precious to me as a method for casually keeping in touch.
