Re: Eurovision 2024

I thought this was the best Eurovision in years - and some of the songwriting was verging on innovative for a change; there were half a dozen decent songs there (although most of them didn't score...

Re: The NHS app?

I don't remember it taking time to verify me when I downloaded it, but that was several years ago now. I find it much easier using the app to communicate with the surgery than trying to telephone.

Re: The Suicide Thread - Trigger Warning

Sunrise, the only anger, hatred and bitterness I see in your posts is towards yourself. You have a great sense of humour, you're probably the only person on here who can make me chuckle out loud...

Re: what comes to your mind when you hear the word "cozy"?

Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Michael Schenker... Cozy drummed with them all, as well as having solo hits in the 1970s with Na Na Na and Dance With The Devil.

Re: Do your friends, family or loved ones know about sauk?

I don't have any friends whom I didn't meet via this forum. When I post elsewhere, I do mention the "anxiety forum", but not by name unless it's relevant (not because I am trying to hide anything)....

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)

They must all be in a different Room 101. I can confirm that GI (girlinterrupted) is not here either. I have an escape plan involving Alsa, Vueling and an apartment in Barcelona which will be put...

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)

I am wondering if there is a hidden message in the allocation of my accommodation (which, for once, I didn't organise myself, it's all done by those promoting the rock festival I'm attending): I've...

Re: What I did today - for small achievements and cheers

^ Getting out any day is a victory - and you have to do it again (with your wallet) for the shopping! [emoji16]

Re: Random Questions (3)

^ If I'm at home, then I'm usually catching up on all the soaps I've missed whilst away, editing photographs or updating Flickr. Once I've exhausted those options, it means I've been home too long,...

Terraces? [emoji23]

Welcome, Kev, don't let Seagull put you off. By the way, do you know who makes all those WBA beanies, because I want to buy shares. I see so many people wearing them whenever...

Re: Has anyone else here experienced living as a pariah of their community?

^ I understand avoiding the kids, although my answer is to walk briskly and not look in their direction. I also have to look away from attractive young women, as I've now reached the "dirty old man"...

Re: Has anyone else here experienced living as a pariah of their community?

I think my neighbours just thought I was weird. As for the parking, the street was quite narrow and most didn't have driveways, so it wasn't always possible to park near one's house. Now, I'm quite...

Re: How often do you eat canned food?

I have three types of tinned food in my cupboard: chopped tomatoes, kidney beans and baked beans. Sometimes, I'll use all three in a week (if I'm making chilli, for instance, I'll use kidney beans...

Re: What would you do in this situation?

If mixing milks is an issue for you, why not use the milk from the fuller bottle and use up the other milk in tea (or something requiring a smaller quantity, like batter mix)? I have fruit juice...

Re: What other fears do you have?

I'm so glad that I'm not the only person who has both agoraphobia and claustrophobia at the same time! I'm actually fine in enclosed spaces, as long as I have a clear path to an exit (this includes...

Re: Has anyone else here experienced living as a pariah of their community?

I'm still an oddball, but everyone here has some sort of need (one neighbour has dementia, the other is a disabled alcoholic), even if it's just assisted living for the elderly (I'm the youngest...

Re: Has anyone else here experienced living as a pariah of their community?

I have been a pariah most of my life. School was the worst time, when I was identified as being "different" on my first day and nothing changed, then came university, where I wasn't bullied...

Re: Learner Cars

I don't think I've ever (deliberately - once or twice my car has been in shot when I've been photographing something else) taken a photograph of any of my cars (and I've had a few over the last 45...

Re: Learner Cars

My driving school car was a Ford Fiesta, which would have been reasonably new at the time (late 1970s). My father's car (which I drove between lessons) was a 1966 Riley 4/72. I still don't like...

I voted "buy now pay later" because, at present, I am paying monthly for some caravans with Haven - partly so the money continues to earn interest between payments and partly because each instalment...

Re: If you had to have an itch that no scratching could help, where would you have it

On my instep, as I discovered last night when a mosquito invaded my bedroom and my foot was protruding from the sheet.

Edit: just voted (Monday 22nd), as Tapatalk doesn't show polls and I didn't...

Re: What's your shoe size?

7, sometimes 8. I'm closer to 7 1/2 (whatever happened to half sizes?) and have wide feet, so require an 8 more often than not.
