Hi,

I worked out that I had SA about 2 years ago. At first I wanted to just get over it quickly by myself so that I would never have to tell anyone what was wrong with me. So, I bought loads of...

Re: I have a date (uhh.. help?)

In terms of immediate advice...

Re: Realising how others judge socially anxious people

Re: Do you get jealous of people who improve?

I think this is very normal for people with emotional problems like SA. If we havn't fully accepted our situation we think "why me, this isn't fair etc" so of course we are jealous of others. Just...

Re: Dr Richard's ANTS

I think what Dr. Richards says is basically true...

ANTs make us feel bad because we take them to *mean something about us*. Like if someone insults you, you only feel bad if you believe that what...

Re: Advice on changing behaviour pls

Thanks... that makes a lot of sense. Especially the point about acceptance. Is that what changing thinking patterns is about in a way?

Advice on changing behaviour pls

Hi all...

I've been trying to overcome my SA by using self-help books... mainly the CBT one by Gillian Butler. I first tried working on just changing my thoughts but didn't find it to be too...
